Save this seller!!
Save this seller! I just received this hornwort and a few other varieties I ordered. The plants were a bit stressed, as expected coming in the mail, but still live and healthy. Within a few hours of putting them in water and they started coming around. The one suggestion I have is it would help for the seller to include a sheet with care instructions, tips, etc. depending on the species. However, figuring out how to care for each particular plant isn't terribly difficult. Overall, very, VERY satisfied with this order and this seller in terms of price, value, and quality and will definitely add to my favorites for future needs!

Thought it would grow, it mostly didn't
Hornwort update: I trimmed the very tops of the stems and floated them for a week or two and now I have maybe 3 or 4 living stems that are still tiny but growing. The whole rest of the plant is dead, shed all the needles into the tank and is melting and making a mess. Other plants seem to be doing okay so far. ------- Right up top, I think 4 stars for live plants on Amazon is a good expectation. I purchased 3 different plants in one order from this seller, so I'm going to copy the same review to each item. I'll try to update as things grow in. I ordered Hornwort, Java Moss, and Crypt Parva for a new mini shrimp jar. I placed my order on a Saturday evening and I did choose to pay for faster shipping to ensure they had the best chance. To my surprise, the order was filled and shipped Sunday morning. I just received them Wednesday morning and planted everything. It was in a box with a bubblewrap bag with the plants inside. Everything was intact. I received a tissue culture of something for free with my order, not sure what it is yet. Looks green and healthy, we'll see - I sometimes have bad luck with tissues. The hornwort I'm giving 4 stars. It feels strong, but bristly and it's browner than I would hope. Kind of a messy bundle, but it's okay for me because I chopped it into pretty short stems anyways. I expect the color to improve over time, maybe with some trimming and replanting. The java moss also gets 4 stars. It's java moss. Maybe the clump of moss seemed a little small... but again this was a situation where I really didn't need very much, so it worked out. It looks and feels healthy, and it will grow. The crypt parva gets 5 stars. Looked just as good, if not better, than a plant in a bag would look if I drove to my LFS and bought one. Big and healthy and easy to split into smaller pieces. I was worried the crown might be mushy but it's awesome. Overall, my experience is better than I expected. I'll try to update in a few weeks once things settle in, but based on how they look and feel, it would likely be my fault if they died.

Healthy and doing great
I received a single plant - all the stems were from the same node. It took quite a while for the packet to arrive, so I expected to see a lot of melting. But that didn't happen. The melting was minimal. After washed, it looked so beautiful right away (see the 2nd photo). I put the entire bunch in a plastic lunch container, filled it with half tap water and half tank water, then closed it with a transparent lid and placed it under a LED light. The Hornwort did not melt in the container. After the initial couple of days, I could hardly find more than a few newly fallen leaves (needles) when doing water change. A few days later I moved the whole thing to where it belongs. Since then, only about two weeks have passed. But I have cut its stems at least a couple of times. With strong light at the minimum of 10 hours a day, I hope it will grow fast.

UPDATED REVIEW
UPDATE: I’ve had these plants in my aquarium for a few weeks now and I am pleasantly surprised. Honestly, I didn’t think they would live-I didn’t even plant them because I thought I’d have to rip them out. Luckily, I was wrong. Now they do look like their picture and they are actually thriving. I’m glad I gave them a chance to rebound because they really are doing great. I upgraded the stars from 3 to 4. I didn’t give it a 5 due to how they were upon arrival. I’ve been waiting for my aquarium plants to arrive and was thrilled that they arrived a day early. They were reasonably well packed. Unfortunately they didn’t look remotely like the picture. The bunches of plants were large-that was nice but only one of them seemed a bit green. Everything else was brown and fell apart in the water. Sad. But I’m hoping they perk up and turn my opinion around.

Strong, but stressed
The item/water plant, looks a little stressed, but it had been almost a week. The plant looks a dull olive green and wilted. I place it into my pond and I’m hoping it’ll recover. I gently swirled them around my pond, and no leaves came off, so the plant is still strong - just stressed. Update: one month later, plant has been putting off new lush branches since a week in the pond. I have a good feeling that this plant will help aerate my little lotus pond. Update: three months later and plant is thriving with little if any assistance. In these past 3-4 months, I only twice spread the plant out over the surface of the pond so it could get maximum sunlight, and it’s thriving. New branches are a brighter shade of emerald green.
