Decent Ladder for the Price
Last fall my ladder broke off as some guests forgot to put it back up. I had the marina weld the support bar back on the swim platform and asked them to give me a quote for the new ladder. They didn’t have a 4-step so they went to JVC who wanted $450 along with shipping and another $300 to pull the boat and install it. I found this ladder for $90. I have 2 swim platforms with ladders and you can definitely tell the difference from the manufacturer’s ladder to this ladder. However, this ladder went on rather smoothly (I did have to fabricate it slightly to match the holes on the support bar) and when I tested it in dry with, it held my 190 lb frame from step 1 to step 4. I don’t know if it will last long or not rust (shouldn’t since it is fresh water and stainless steel) but figure if I get a year or 2 out of it, I have 6 more to buy before getting to the price the marina wanted which should be over 10 years from now. If it doesn’t hold up, then I’ll buy something else. For now, I would recommend it but probably not using the screws they provided (not sure they are worth anything more than some extra wood screws to use elsewhere). I have photos of the final product attached to the platform.

Nice and tight.
So nice I bought it twice. Spring is tight which is nice but makes it hard to stow some times. May be difficult to use for the strength challenged.

Great design or the money
I didn't want to spend $200 on a swim ladder for our new boat swim platform. Yes it's very skinny but we are not your typical overweight American family!Install was easy and there is plenty of space between the bottom of the ladder mounting and the tubes...but even if you have longer bolts you can dremmel off the the exposed ends.It did come with hardware (actually two sets) but just large stainless screws...not proper bolt through for my application. The ones supplied would only be useful for wood platform as bolt through is the ONLY option for fiberglass or synthetics...but I would say wood too.Photos speak well of the design. I looked the spring loaded locking tensioner to keep it in place and from rattling.I got the 4 run ladder and hind site 20/20 I would have got the three now simply because the last rung is to flimsy in my opinion. It will be fine for the girls but I"ll keep my 200lb frame on the last three.8 bolt holes supplied and I used all 8...you need may very but the more used the stronger it will be.

Very impressed with this ladder
I purchased this to use on my pontoon boat, and I mounted it on the underside of the front and it works excellently! It's very sturdy and even when I left it down once while driving the boat, it did not bend anything although it made my boat on a lot slower until I pulled it back up as one would expect! I highly recommend it. I would just recommend adding some pool handles for people to grab a hold of on your boat above the ladder.

Damaged Product
Unfortunately the frame was bent and no turn around time to get another one as the boat is going in the water on Monday

Amazingly perfect
Installed 1 2 3 under my swim platform. A tad bit tricky lining up the drill holes as there is no template. Made my own template out of blue painters tape. Used the ladder at the sand bar and I could not be happier with this choice. I love how it clips into itself and does not stay folded up with a bungee cord. Also the under mount provides more room for your feet over the top mount ladders. Just stop looking and buy it. Can not go wrong. I used all stainless hardware. 1" screws with washers and lock nuts.
