Bahco 9031 RC US 8-Inch Wide Mouth Adjustable Wrench, Chrome

I have lots and lots of Bahco adjustable spanners, and will always use them wherever I can. I also have a set of Ox wide jaw adjustables that I use as and when I need to, but will always go for a Bahco first. I bought these as they're excellent quality, and just feel right in the hand. They're chunky and strong, and seem to get on almost anything. This one being chrome was worth buying just because it's so pretty, but it's just such a nice spanner to use. The ergo grip feels great in the hand, and it's wide jaws open up past the 38mm markings to somewhere between 40 - 41mm. So not bad, and pretty versatile for an 8" spanner. I always stick a bit of grease and oil on the mechanism, and keep them clean and oiled. Used properly and looked after, these spanners will last a lifetime. You really can't go wrong with Bahco tools.

Never liked adjustables in the past as they have a habit of coming undone after you turn a bolt a few times. These are in a different league. The chrome finish is better than any other brands I've tried. There is hardly any wobble and they open pretty wide. Hopefully the rubber grips will hold up to the test of time

This almost ooks and feels like a nice quality adjustable wrench. The only thing letting it down is that the wheel mechanism for opening and closing the wrench has got two really stiff points, where the teeth on the wheel and moving jaw don't line up. On a Chinesium product, this would be forgivable, but this is a Bahco and the almost-premium price tag means that this shouldn't be happening. I know I'm not the only one, looking at the reviews here and elsewhere. Other than the stiff points, the action is smooth and the overall build quality looks to be OK, but there are a few very sharp edges which could cut you, on the tips of the jaws, which are easily fixable with some abrasives or a file. Still, they shouldn't be there at this price point. There is minimal jaw slop at the wide open end, and there is around 2mm of slop in all directions at the closed end (but not closed), which isn't great. Overall, a little disappointing, expected better.

I wanted the highest quality American made 8” crescent I could buy, but found every American name brand I looked at farms out manufacturing to other countries. So I checked out other brands. I wasn’t aware at all of Bahco, but found it’s a venerable Swedish company known for superior engineering and high quality manufacturing. The information on Amazon didn’t specify where the wrench was manufactured, but knew by reputation it should be excellent. Turns out when I received it, the card said it was made in Spain (some of the higher priced wrenches sold by American companies are made in Spain). This wrench is as good as I had hoped it would be. Perfect fit and finish, high-quality materials, tight tolerances (very little play in the movable jaw), smooth adjusting screw, and comfortable rubber grip. The next tool I buy will likely be an American brand made in Spain, but hopefully American manufacturing will pick up and it will be made here. But this is a heck of a nice wrench.

First time use. Very soft Not for mechanics For sure plumbers and house hold use . These are great but not for some tradesmen.

I am the first one to write a review from India. It's just an amazing shifter. I bought 9031 coz it's slightly bigger than 9029 and gives more torque compared. I had a earlier version but the jaw size was limited. This one is good. The chrome finish is good and I bought the chrome finished becoz it's more neat. It's a one time buy and gonna last for ever.
