Vanish Fluorocarbon Fishing Line/Leader Material

Purchased to use for making bracelets and various beading crafts, it works awesome! Holds up and it has yet to break on me, easy to knot and to cut. Very thin but definitely sturdy

Great for my cat's toy wand/"fishing pole". Didn't know whether 2 pound test would work well. Cats are pretty strong. This stuff worked great! So did 4 pound test. She chewed through cheap fishing line that came with the product. This stuff doesn't seem to interest her nearly as much. Not enough there to bother chewing on, I suppose.

It’s seen very promising (invisible!). I will try it out this coming spring for catching salmon.

I have used this as a leader for braided fishing line. I am using 10 pound braid and this fluorocarbon in 8 pound test. I have this setup on 2 rod and spinning reel combos. I use fluorocarbon for it’s transparency and abrasion resistance. That being said, there are a few things you should be aware of. I have been using this setup for Walleye fishing from the bank for about the last month. On several occasions, I have tried to set the hook and broke the fluoro at the knot at the jig. On other occasions it has broken at the knot at the braided line. I’m not an expert but I have lost a few fish and many lures due to breakage of the line. I did a bunch of research and watched a lot of videos. The knots you use make a HUGE difference. I had been using a Palomar knot at the jig and a couple different knots at the braid. The Palomar knot does not work well with fluoro. I was having breakage with a double uni or a double-double uni knot at the braid. My go to now is what some pro anglers on YT call a uni knot at the lure. Shaw Grigsby has a video that he states he doesn’t know what the knot is called. Search YT for “best knot for fluorocarbon “. I have had much better results with this knot. I am able to confidently land 2-5 lb walleyes and not worry about breaking the line. The best knot I have found for attaching to braid is the modified Alberto knot. The river bottom here is rocky. Snags are an everyday problem. I can usually get my jigs loose without losing them now that I’ve found better knots. Search YT for “best braid-leader knot for light line: Lazy Alberto”. In all honesty, when this spool is gone, I’m going to switch to monofilament for my leaders. It’s way more forgiving.

I use it as leader material for 15 lb braid, holds up pretty good for inshore saltwater and freshwater although that's probably because 20lb is overkill for bass. Abrasion resistance seems solid, when I get cut off, it's because the braid usually got nicked on something. Only issue I've had is knot tying because it's fairly stiff.

Purchased this for an upcoming trip up to Canada where I'll be doing a fly in for the walleye season opener. In preparation I hit local lakes and ponds for bass and other local species and have had great success with both jigs and drop shot. Have fished side by side with a buddy that was using straight braid tied on, I caught 2-3x more fish with the fluoro leader on. It certainly helps with finicky fish. *** Post Fly in update: I ran the floro leader up in Rainy Lake for the Walleye opener and I noticed a HUGE difference in sheer volume of strikes compared to previous years. When the bite was on I was catching fish every 10-15m and when it was off I seemed to be the only guy hitting. The other guys were using wire leaders and after 2 days pretty much everyone switched to Floro. Never had any issues losing pike, walleye, or lakers and I caught trophy size fish in all 3 species. I would recommend every time you tie on, give your line a firm pull to test both your line to line knot and the terminal knot. I did have 1-2 instances where I tested and the line snapped from wear, but it’s well worth it.

Best Fluorocarbon on the market in my opinion.

I have not found any problems with the Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon 8lbs line, A good knot strength, cast well, the snoods length tend not to curl up like a lot of other fluorocarbon line I have tried and on the plus side it’s a large 2000 yards spool
