Dexter: The Complete Series

This was purchased for a relative and they enjoyed it.

I was not sure that I wanted to watch this series after I had purchased it, it sat on the table for a month before I unsealed the container. Finally I decided to view a couple shows from year one and realized It is very well produced and written by top screen writers. Each episode ends in a hook, a cliff hanger, if you will. I wound up binge watching the first two years of the series. Finally, I took a break, the issue that I was having was the narrator puts you in the head of a serial killer who feels justified in his work, but you know he enjoys the addiction, and you know it will most likely get worst. I had to move on to more normal movies to get Dexter out of my head for a while. I noticed that watching the bad behavior was disrupting my sleep and causing me to dream about dreadful situations that should normally be fun. Watch this series at your own peril. This is definitely the dark side of entertainment. After finishing the series and watching the last episodes, I turns out to be different than I expected. This was a well written and produced series. If you were a CSI fan you might like DEXTER...If you never watch the last season you will assume Dexter was a natural born killer that needed to be put down, so if you get past the first few episodes finish the series.

The boxset is fantastic! One case for all 32 discs which includes all episodes (8 seasons) with extras/bonus content. I waited for the price to go down and got a great deal on this boxset. An extremely interesting show - well written and well acted with an unusual concept. Dexter is the story of a brilliant man who gives up medical school to become a civilian forensic blood pattern analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department. This position allows him to 'vet' his next kill. Living by his father Harry's "code" (who figured out at an early age that Dexter was on the path to being a killer), Dexter restricts his serial killing to only bad actors/other serial killers. He is also hiding his activity from his sister who he is very close to. Dexter justifies his 'dark passenger' as performing a service to society by cleansing these evil doers before they can kill again. He often gets to them before the legal system can, and/or sometimes where the legal system fails. Throughout the series, Dexter struggles with fitting into society and attempting a 'normal' life while disappearing at night to satisfy his urges. Each season, Dexter confronts an opponent that he must address. A very different show where you 'hear' Dexter's thoughts and 'conversations' with his deceased father while watching him balance normal life and the demands of his dark passenger. Intelligent and suspenseful, I highly recommend this boxset! (looking forward to 'Dexter: New Blood' next)

On season 3, and so far so good! One thing to note, mine isn't a box set. I was expecting a box set and got every single individual season. Wich was totally fine, just thought I would share in case thats not what others want

This one is not for everybody esp., Children, An Adult content type, ck reviews first, however, it is a collectable!

I am happy with my purchase.

This is the "GREATEST SERIES OF ALL TIME" to me! I can watch it over & over. I bought 2 sets, one for me & the other for my brother. His set had 2 copies of season 5 & 6 and was also missing two other seasons. I never returned it because he waited so long to open it and find that out. The one I ordered for myself went missing soon after I got it home before I could ever watch it, so I don't know if it had the whole series or if it was just like my brother's set. :( My rating is definitely FIVE STARS for the movie, but the manufacturing mishap gets a big FAT ZERO!!!!!
