Switched from MX400XL. to MX300 unit. Needed fewer features
Sections of The MX. 400 I received did not work so I returned it and got a MX300 which works fine. I decided I did not need all the features on the 400. The Lexicon tech rep. worked with me on the phone to trouble shoot the unit and determined it was defective. Amazon immediately replaced the unit with a 300. Great service.

Don’t buy low end lexicon save up for high end used lexicon for epic quality
I have used mpx 1 and pcm series but these are terrible is you want quality famous lexicon effects better to buy used pcm or mpx series or cheap tc than these I gave my mx away to a person who can’t hear any better lexicon was bought out by a large music company along with digitech and others and instead of making high end studio effects cheaper they dumbed down digitech and lexicon in their low end line ups High end digitech gear has all but disappeared and low end lexicon is useless

It's great. It sounds like I bought something that sounds like hit records. If you make music, and you like music so much that you can "hear" familiar sounds from your music collection I don't think you'd be disappointed with this. It has a number of sophisticated combination of effects and through muting and stereo send/return connectivity you can get four mono insert effects into your DAW. However the stereo effects are the best (in my view). It has plugin functionality too where you can add plugins into your tracks that control the unit. I would recommend this unit to anyone who wants delay and lush Lexicon effects on their tracks, It does subtlety too, but who wants that!
