I've owned these for almost 2 years now and I'm very happy with my purchase! They do the main job I bought them for extremely well - they chop through anything I've attempted to cut very easily (meat, fish, vegetables, herbs, spring onions, packaging etc), as well as having little extra features that make them even more useful. In particular I've found the little bits sticking out of the tops of the handles surprisingly handy, in the video they're shown being used to open a can, and I have done this once on a can where the ring pull broke off, but I mainly use them to lever under the edge of jar lids to "pop" the airtight seal, which makes them *so* much easier to open! I have a medical issue which has led to muscle wastage, so jars can be hard to open sometimes, but when I break the seal this way there are very few jars which defeat me! They're also very useful for any other levering tasks around the kitchen (e.g. opening tins with flat "pop out" lids, like golden syrup and custard powder), and without risk of bending the ends of your cutlery or whatever you might use instead! They come apart very easily for cleaning; possibly the only criticism would be that they come apart so easily they sometimes do it when I've just opened them a little too far, but this hasn't been a major issue, as they're so easy to put back together on the rare occasion this does happen. We usually wash them in the dishwasher, but when I've only used them for something like herbs I sometimes just give them a thorough rinse under the tap and they come clean extremely easily. The blades have remained sharp despite them now being almost 2 years old, and they haven't rusted or become stiff to use. The scissors feel extremely sturdy and well made. Highly recommended!

Not used them myself as I purchased them for my wife. I am told that she likes them. They are sharp and cut well. They are strong and the ability to separate the blades for cleaning is a good feature.

These unusual scissors arrived safely & quickly. I Love the clean looking shiny metal, no plastic anywhere so they feel, cold to touch, smooth & weighty. Genius design & lovely to hold & use. The weight is especially good when cutting material in a straight line with a satisfying cutting motion. Their multi purpose function works well & easily without them feeling flimsy. A great buy for every kitchen or sewing box...perhaps buy 2 as they are so affordable! Will buy again myself.

What you get:- The scissors arrive in the plastic sealed packaging we all know and love...you know the type you really need a scissors to open....go figure. The first thing you notice is that these feel quite heavy. Not in a bad way but in a decent quality way. They don't feel flimsy and light but solid and functional. The hand grips are large enough to use comfortably but not so large as to feel clumsy. The action is smooth and the blades are very, very sharp. Only time will tell how long they will remain this way. I really don't care about the nut cracker, the bottle opener, etc...I wanted scissors to cut stuff with and that's it. Opening the blades past about 90 degrees allows you to pull them apart. The only reason I can see you'd want to do this is to clean them. One reviewer complained that you don't need to open that far in use before they seperate....which is utter rubbish, I have no idea what that reviewer was trying to cut but he was using the wrong tool for the job. These were bought as a family member has arthritis and was finding the existing kitchen scissors extremely difficult and uncomfortable to use. So far they've had no problems with these and thinks they're very good. So in summary, a very good pair of kitchen scissors that appear to be very well made with good quality material. Some bells and whistles most will never use and while quite expensive compared to other scissors these feel they'll last a long time so could easily work out better value for money.

Good quality and good design

The best scissors I have ever used. No plastic parts to fail, and easy to take apart to clean properly. They are very sharp even when separated, I accidentally cut myself whilst washing the pots so be careful. The bottle opener also seems to work very well. I have owned for over a year and they are still perfect. I don't write many reviews but these have been exceptional.

These are great, wish I’d had some years ago. Cut meat easily and come apart for easy cleaning.

love that it is detachable and i can clean the part around the hinge so easily. can simply detach and put in the dishwasher. dries fast, no need to worry about rusting or grime build up around the hinge. well made and feels so solid. hopefully will last a lifetime

Good quality product for any kitchen. I love it. Sharp edges. Easy to wash.

So far they work great. Plenty sharp, very sturdy, a bit heavy and easy to take apart. The handles are plenty big with no sharp corners, which is good since not all scissors work well with big hands. Has a groove for cutting through bone, but haven't tested that yet. The only down side is they can sometimes come apart unintentionally if opened wide, but that applies to all scissors with this type of hinge and you get use to it. Easy cleaning is worth it imo. Love that cleaning is as easy as turning the handles perpendicular and pulling them apart. Clean them like a set of knives, makes for easy sharpening too. No rust so far and feels/looks/sounds like stainless to me, which was one of my biggest worries due to some of the comments. Says it's 420J2 stainless steel, which should be rather rust resistant (not rust proof fyi). Though I'm curious how long it stays sharp since it's a softer steel. This is one of the cheapest types of stainless steel that can still call itself a knife steel so it isn't the best, but it gets the job done and is still better than a lot of other metals used for scissors. Plus better steel that stays extra sharp would come at a higher price along with tradeoffs like easier to rust/chip and a less shiny surface due to lower chrome content. Edit: Been a long time, no rust, still working great.
