At first the mask was tugging down on my ears, but they provide an elastic strap that goes through each ear hole and across the crown of your head to prevent that. It is quite comfortable to wear, however it isn't exactly covid- friendly and I'll explain . It DOES filter in the air you breathe, it can only be drawn through the mask, which has I believe 5 or 6 layers including a replaceable carbon internal layer. Air cannot be drawn inward through those two ports on the mask, I put my mouth directly on them and tried because I was like wtf? But they have a rubber disc inside that seals them shut when you inhale. This is highly effective in preventing the wearer from contracting the virus. When you exhale however, the rubber disc in the vents is shifted to allow your breath the freedom to escape into the room without being even slightly filtered. If you have covid and no symptoms you will still be risking the people around you with potential life threatening illness. How I fixed this was tracing the rubber disc on to one of the extra carbon filters, and cutting it out, carefully taping the edges, and inserting it into the vent on top of the rubber layer. I still inhale filtered, comfortable air but now my exhale is responsible. It doesn't effect how comfortable the mask is either. The price is great, the masks are high quality and filter 99% over the n95 (which filters 95%) so that's great! It is so effective that it even effectively mutes odors. I will be purchasing again.

These base camp dust masks work really well and are very comfortable for long term wearing. They come with a generous amount of disposable pre filters that are made out of a high quality material that can actually be removed, washed, dried and used over again. Just be careful removing and replacing the one way valves that hold the prefilters in place as not to terror the masks material. ( If the manufacturer would heat seal the area around the holes this wouldn't be a problem.) The only other thing is that the velcro strap that goes around your neck could stand to be just a little bit longer. Would I buy this product again? Absolutely and without hesitation! I made the same comments as above on a YouTube off road video and the company that manufactures, these masks responded back about my concerns within minutes in the comment section. I believe they want their customers to be happy.

I just used it today due to the smoky air in Calif during wildfires... ugh. And I did not smell the smoke through the mask. I took the mask off and smelled smoke. Put the mask back on, no smoke smell! Yay! I had to shorten the ear straps to make it fit my head. I think these are made for man heads. Not women heads, which is kind of messed up. How about a woman head mask! We need to protect our lungs too!!! And how about making them in colors other than black? PROS: light comfortable (after I fixed the ear straps stays in place can breathe easily through it. it forms a seal once I press the nose piece in place but it doesn't make a mark or feel uncomfy no fogging up the glasses if I press the nose piece in place CONS: my head isn't a big ol' man head, so the strap around the back of my neck barely makes it to close, it's too long for women heads. but it does close and it does hold... it does get hot and my face does sweat under it, but that's okay, not a big deal. I am not suffocating. when I press the nose piece to form the seal, it does press on the sides of my nose a little and I do need to keep tugging at it from time to time to regain comfort. it's not a huge deal though. __ Overall... I like this mask. I think if it was more form-fitting for a FEMALE that would be awesome. Recommended? Yes. I bought this because I hated wearing the N95 mask for fire smoke. This one can be washed unlike the N95. And it's got 2 respirators and not just one. Nice! ******** UPDATE ********* Well, I've started using this mask because of the smokiness due to fires. And I can honestly say, this mask is great. I have since adapted it to my female head by adding a strap to the ear loops which are rather silly...they don't stay on because they have no elastic (thus the man vs woman head issue). So... I added this little strap and it goes up over my head and holds the mask in place perfectly. Then I velcro the back (which is still too big for my head, but it does close, just has a "tail"). It forms a seal and I can not smell any smoke at all. Even when it's quite hazy outdoors, I can't smell any smoke and after a while, I can breathe easily. My face sweats like crazy but it does that with an N95 too, so whatever. I'm very happy that this mask keeps my lungs clean! Love the dual breathing valves. They are more comfortable than an N95 mask. And I can wash this mask, and can't wash an N95, so that's awesome! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED And if you need to add a strap to the ear loops go ahead. Because it works great then.

I bought these as an alternative to an RZ mask and I was disappointed overall. To be fair up front, the mask itself is good, but the way the mask adjusts to different sizes is not great. Full story: So I bought these mostly out of curiosity because I didn't want to spend the money on a full RZ mask at the time of purchase. they were similar enough and reviews seemed good. But when I finally got them and used them the ear hooks just never sit tight, and the rear strap doesn't really help at all. Looking at it I assumed that as you adjust the strap it would pull on the ear loop to tighten everything up, but it doesn't. I can get he mask to sit tight but the ear loops just dangle around, and this leads to a wonky fit no matter how you adjust it. I kept the masks and have used them by modifying them a bit but it's annoying that you can't adjust the ear loops along with the strap to ensure a tight fit.

This is a newer version of a similar model which now includes loops for the ears. Lots of extra filters and parts to help keep it clean. The build quality looks good but what I like most is that I can take this on and off without removing my glasses or hearing muffs.

This works to keep stuff like dust out of your lungs, however it isn’t very comfortable to use for long periods. Product is effective at what it does, but not comfortable.

Masks don't fit well. The main issue with them is that the "ear loops" are not adjustable or have the appropriate length. That means the main band in the back is the main support. this puts a strain on the lower neck and gets uncomfortable. Either the fit is not well or the pressure is too hard Will never buy again!
