IN LOVE WITH THIS THING!
We've had the 4500 sq ft + pump dehumidifier for our +/- 3800 sq ft home (if you include the storage areas which are what prompted us to order the dehumidifier after a roof leak in an non-climate controlled area, which then got mildewy.) for about 3.5 months now, and I will never be without it again! We live on the gulf coast in a 110 yr old (so likely not very air tight) house. It is MUGGY in our climate (annual avg of 60% humidy at a dew points around 65-70 degrees f much of the year... We have not tried the hose for continuous operation yet, as we have been placing the unit strategically at first. (It will later have a permanent home with a drain line.) We keep it set on 55% and the auto function works well to click on/off as needed. We have days where the bucket is full in +/- 16 hours, but we've also had a dry spell where the bucket did not fill for several days and we just dumped it as a mold precaution. (As seen on another review, you can put a silver tab in the bucket to avoid microbial growth if its of concern to you.) It does work FAST too. We didnt empty the bucket earlier this week, so it couldn't come on overnight; the following morning I noticed our HVAC thermostat advised of a "dangerous humidity level" and showed that the house was at 82% humidity. After dumping the bucket and having the dehumidifier click on, it pulled water out of the air so fast that I was able to stand there for a moment and watch the reading go down by several percent in 1-2 minutes. If you want this in your bedroom and are a light sleeper, I will say you can definitely hear it. It may become like white noise to you if you set it to run continuously, though? But it's definitely not silent, it makes a little less noise than a window AC unit. For our use it does not bother us at all. The sensor on the water bucket works well so far. As a precaution, we set it on a tray for the first few weeks until we trusted the bucket sensor to stop operations and not leak onto the floor, so far so good! Just pay attention when replacing the bucket, to ensure the sensor hasnt popped out of place. (This is normal, easy to fix, and there is a reminder sticker on the unit to help you remember to pay attention to the sensor.) I did not anticipate I could love an appliance like this, but I do!!! I hope to never be without it again!

Overrated
I have a number of problems with this Midea dehumidifier. 1. It is very noisy at both the high and low speed. 2. As I understand their Comfort Mode, you can set a humidity at which it shuts off. But it continues to operate noisily after it reaches the setpoint and seems never to shut off. 3. The air comes in from the back, so, if you want it to draw the air from the middle of the room instead of from the wall behind it, you have to turn it around exposing the ugly side of the unit. 4. The wheels are too small making it almost impossible to move on even the shortest carpet. I have to use a trolly to move it from room to room. 5. The water disposal bucket is poorly designed. It is not flat on the bottom, so, if you remove a full bucket and set it down to grab the handle, it spills. Because of the weird interior design, you have to empty the bucket very slowly or water will start coming out multiple places and may miss the sink. 6. I could not understand the operating instructions in the book. I called their service line twice. Both times I reached a person with a foreign accent that I could barely understand. Once children were playing in the background. The extent of her service each time was to read me the instructions from the book I had.

Has a hose for continuous drainage.
Works great! Keeps my basement dry and helps prevent mold. Very effective 👍

Wifi connection and app is worthless.
This unit works great right out of the box. Still waiting to check the pump function and the noise level is what I expected using the continuous mode with turbo. My biggest complaint is the wifi app Smart Home is worthless. I spent an hour trying to get the unit to pair to my phone, even after watching and reading the self help items. When I scan the Qr code, I get an error message, unable to find page. When trying to register the dehumidifier , it will not accept the model number and therefore will not send. Tried every variation of caps, no caps still didn't work. Otherwise the unit does its job .

Better than I hoped for!!!
If you have issues with humidity, don’t even add it to your cart, just hit buy now. There is no question that this was the right purchase for our needs and has gone way beyond what I could have hoped for. I live in a humid area and I would assume that I’m just physically acclimated to high levels of humidity, so I didn’t realize that it was a problem until I needed to control it in my grow tent in the basement. My basement is partially finished and while the grow area is in the unfinished area, our basement has never felt thick or had any musty smell, it’s just like the upstairs in terms of air quality. We do have a TON of windows upstairs, most of which need replaced, along with a high ceiling and skylights, so temperature control has been a problem in some areas of the house. However, replacing 19 windows of multiple different sizes, is going to be quite costly. So I bought a pack of 8 little humidity/temp meters and I realized that the humidity in the house was 60% at the lowest and up to 87% in others, and my new clones that were starting to flower needed 45-55%, I started to scramble. First we tried baking soda until I could get another solution. This was as if I had spit into the wind, but somehow it made me feel like I was doing something. Then came the hanging bags. Did they collect water? Sure. Not very quickly, but I’d hang 5 bags in the tent and it would be several days before I took them out because they were half full, but it didn’t seem to be collecting any more. The humidity didn’t budge more than a couple of percentages now, but it seemed to maintain high 60’s, so I needed something else. At this point the plants were still doing well, but we maintained a steady flow of air to try to avoid any mold. I bought a different dehumidifier that was supposed to cover something like a 1,500 sq/ft area. $70. I only needed to decrease the humidity in a 4x4 tent and it had decent reviews, so I gave it a shot. This was in the tent and moved around several times over about 3 weeks, and the small water reservoir didn’t fill up once, it was just giving me about 100-200 mLs/day. I don’t know what to expect otherwise, so I let it continue for awhile, but in that time the humidity would only drop below 60% when the lights were on. So I bought a box of 24 water collecting bucket type things that had fantastic reviews, and set a bunch out to try to help the dehumidifier. Nothing. But there was significantly more of the little white pebbles than there had been in the bags, so I thought that it was just going to take longer to make its way down to the water reservoir, but nah. Absolutely useless and a massive waste of money. I’m getting very close to harvest and I’m starting to panic. All of this time and work and money, only to screw up in the drying phase. So I read several articles and reviews about the best type to look for and the tips that I saw over and over. One being to get one with a pump. I’ll be honest, I had the general idea, but I just took the advice blindly and didn’t care why I needed it. The other main one was to get one that’s supposed to cover at least double the square footage of the space that you want. I’m thinking the basement, which is about 800 sq/ft. But that’s what I was thinking with the first one and it failed me, so let’s go bigger. Let’s try double the entire house, this way I know for certain that it’s doing what I need it to. Think buying a riding lawnmower for your 100 sq/ft lawn. Yeah baby. The unit is supposed to cover 4,500 sq/ft and between the 3 levels (basement, main, 1/2 story) there’s about 2,100 sq/ft, however, it was going to be in the very back corner of the basement in a walled off area, so I wasn’t hoping for much beyond that area, because to me the humidity isn’t noticeable. I’m going to make it very clear that I only care about my plants, lol. There’s a rich looking chick that left a video of her emptying the water reservoir, and that water Just. Kept. Coming. Absolutely huge reservoir and this lady and several others, said that they empty this beast several times a day. So you’re telling me you live on a beach and never close the windows? Geez, no way would that be me, and I was starting to have an intense distrust of the damn reviews. But for some reason, the rich blonde chick really stuck in my mind, and I decided to give it a go. This unit is large. It’s about the size of a window air conditioner, but sits on the floor. It was a little heavy to get it out of the box, but once it’s upright, it’s on wheels. There wasn’t any assembly per say, you just have to pop the cord holder on. Super easy to use, just plug it into an appropriate outlet, hit start, and you’re up and running. Problem solved almost instantly guys. We had just started upping the water and flushing the plants, so the humidity in that area had risen to 87% when I started it. Spending the money on this was an act of desperation and it has paid off BIG time. I had plugged it in and started it around 3am and when my SO got home at around 2pm, the machine was off and the reservoir full. I still haven’t set up the app, so after I do that I can actually keep track of how quickly it fills up, but what we’ve experienced so far is dumping the reservoir about 3 times a day, which would likely be more frequently if I paid more attention to it, and once we decide to set it up with the pump option, we won’t have to worry about it shutting off, it will flip to the pump automatically and drain elsewhere. At this point though, we’ve actually had to turn the unit off during the day sometimes because the humidity is virtually sucked out of the air completely, like when they sucked the air out of Druidia with a giant vacuum cleaner in Space Balls. We are maintaining around 45% before we turn it off for a few hours because that’s as low as we want to go for the plants. The unexpected result is that the rest of the house has also benefited significantly despite the unit being back in a basement corner, quietly pumping away. We are in a massive heat wave right now, and my house feels better than it has in probably ever. I’ve been using it for 1 1/2 weeks so far, so hopefully it lasts for a couple of years. I also love that it has a washable filter because lord knows I don’t need another expensive filter to buy. Anyway, 5 stars, 10 times over. Don’t hesitate, it’s just what you need.

Company Stands Behind Its Product
After researching the market, this appeared to be the best dehumidifier value. We purchased the unit and were very pleased with unit features and performance. It was effective at lowing the humidity level in our home and maintaining at at the desired level. Unfortunately, after about 3 months it started freezing up and then stopped working completely. We contacted Midea Support and after reasonable efforts to make sure the unit really wasn't working, they promptly refunded our full purchase price. While disappointed that the unit failed, we understand that things go wrong even with the best of products. We are impressed with Midea Support and that the company stood behind its product and acted promptly to make things right. We purchased an identical unit to replace it and hope it will last longer than the first one. (If it doesn't we will update our review).

Do Not Buy
This is the worst product I’ve ever purchased. It began to leak after 1 month of use. I can’t find the leak and I received zero customer support. If I want to run the machine I have to put it in the bath tub so it leaks into something that will drain it away. Also pump function is not working. And pump hose does not fit inside the outlet, had to shave it down to fit. Denied a refund bc I couldn’t show where it was leaking. Horrible experience and product

Too loud, even in the quietest mode. Awkward bucket design. Worked well otherwise.
I tried this out for a few days after reading favorable reviews on Consumer Reports, but plan to return it once a different model arrives. My main complaint is the noise. The website from Midea claimed it was rated at 47 db, but I measured 55 db around 6 ft away, on the quietest/lowest setting. Worse than the dB level, however, was a medium-high frequency whine sound at 3270 hz that was extremely salient. I was able to hear this in my bedroom when it was on another level of my house a few rooms away. I think if it were more of a smooth pink-noise sound I'd have no complaints, but the concentrated noise at a specific frequency made the perceived noise much worse. I actually tried wearing my best earplugs, sitting around 15 ft away, and it was still too annoying. And this is coming from someone who likes ambient white/pink noise. I sleep with an air purifier running in my bedroom, for example. I also didn't like the water bucket design. The manual warns that you have to slide it out and then grab the bucket handle or otherwise hold it up, since it will fall over if you place it on a flat surface; the bottom isn't flat. It's also slightly awkward to replace the bucket, since it has to be tilted forward at just the right angle to slide in; it's not as easy from a modern-engineered appliance. Not a deal-breaker but it's definitely more prone to spilling water than it should be. Finally, the pump button can be depressed easily and I worry that it would cause a flood if accidentally toggled. I don't know if there is any failsafe if the hole isn't plugged in. I have cats who like to press buttons, so I was concerned about leaving it running... although the annoying noise seems to keep the cats away, FWIW.

Bon déshumidificateur
Très efficace je recommande. La fonction wifi est très pratique pour aviser du degré d’humidité et avertir quand le réservoir est plein

Used-Like New???
I bought this with the understanding that it was labelled as “used-like new”. Well I can certainly tell you it was not. Although I’m keeping this machine (because I need it) I’m going to list a few issues it came with. 1. Two of the four caster on the bottom of the unit were broken. 2. Bottom plastic casing is broken in multiple places. Even if I wanted to replace the caster, I can’t because the plastic bottom is too broken. 3. There was a corner piece of the bucket that was broken. I was able to glue it back in place. 4. The internal hygrometer does not work. The unit constantly says it’s reading at 35% RH. I had two other hygrometers to compare and my two can be reading 60%. The dehumidifier RH never changes from 35%. Because of this, I can only run the unit on the continuous setting. None of the automated settings work. The positive is that it does pull water from the area it’s in and the pump seems to still work, for now. Otherwise this unit would be useless. This was not “used-like new” as it was labelled. It should have gone back to the manufacturer. Not worth the 5% discount I was given because it was “used”. Buyers beware!

Great APP Functionality
Got this unit as a warehouse deal for about $90 off the regular price. I was a bit hesitant but it was worth it since II was able to get a bigger capacity unit for a better price. The unit arrived in its original packaging and the box had a bit of damage. Unboxing the unit it did not appear to have been used I have had it running for 3 months now and it is working perfectly fine. The first 2 months I was emptying the bucket every 8 hours but recently I had my plumber connect the pump discharge tube to the drainage system in my basement so the unit now gets rid of the water on it's own. I have to say, the WiFi functionality is very good. You need to download the Smart Home app and then follow the instructions to pair the unit. It wasn't too difficult and I figured it out without reading the instructions! My dad would have been proud.

Very useful
I needed a second dehumidifier, and this one is doing what it's supposed to. It's not quite as powerful and the capacity isn't quite as big as that of my other dehumidifier, but it's still doing it's job quite well, and it's also quite a bit less noisy. I was initially sent the wrong model, but at least that got sorted out.
