Dear Customer, To ensure the streaming quality, we strongly recommend connecting the device to an external 5V/2A charger, which is not included in the packaging. Connects EZCast Ultra to the USB port of your TV may cause damages to the device due to unstable power supply.

can i extend my old macbook pro display to an external 4k monitor using the full 4k resolution of the external display on macosx 10.13 high sierra?

Ultra does not support Airplay in 4K resolution. you can do local video, photo streaming in 4K but Airplay mirror or extend is not supported at this moment. EZCast Customer Care
