You won't see any visible venting because that would allow small objects access through the hard hat but it does have an air gap around the actual protective surface and the supporting webbing that's designed for airflow and it actually does help keep your head cooler

The 3M website says the suspension is upgradeable to 6-point harness. Has anybody done this?

Yes. There's a single middle strap that you can get separately. The middle strap clips in and runs from side to side inside the hard hat.

I have a 7.75 hat size, will this fit a large?

The inner band is easily adjusted to fit any size. I have about a 7.25 hat size and I can make it large enough to fit it over a baseball hat or a stretch knit hat for when it's cold out (like today!). It should easily fit a 7.75. The adjustment is very simple and takes just a fraction of a second.
