No leaks
Testing seals for leaks. So far so good. Will update if any failures are detected. Seals are rather soft and deform with a deep groove after removing. This happens whether you tighten gently or crank down hard. I expect deformation is normal and desirable. Seal may stick to the mouth of container when lid is removed, so watch that when reattaching lids. I'd pull the seal off the collar, set back into the lid, smooth it out with a finger tip all around, then reattach. Hopefully this action resists multiple cross-over-deformations or seal damage. So far I think a gentle tighten is sufficient to prevent leaking. Finger tight to barely snug, then tug just a little more. Not much. This is in response to others who had problems with leaks which may now be addressed. I will probably get a spare set of seals in case, for very long term use. If one does fail or gets lost, I will be wanting a spare right then, not later. There are 5 lids and 1 tap/lid. I'd prefer to have 6 lids for storage and 1 tap/lid for when tapping is actually needed. I may get a spare lid. If I took it camping, I would definitely not carry it with the tap/lid attached, and not get it bumped around in travel. Its thin and would want to resist breakage in transit. Parts of the tap are rather thin. Don't tell your overgrown teenage boy who might not be too sensitive or thoughtful yet to "close the tap REAL GOOD". You may have a problem. Something like that. Really a simple turn is sufficient. But I like how they have a vent tube inserted INTO the spigot. I was wondering if I could source a stainless steel one like from my gravity feed water filter and put on instead for durability, but it wouldn't have the venting feature. Hole size is different but I could buy a spare lid and modify, but no vent. Others wouldn't want to bother with that but some of us think that way. I'd like to see a whole redesign, with a travel cap over the tap, or something more durable. But that would probably cost more, so how necessary is it? Sagan, I am wondering if the material used for the seal is something that easily will sit on the shelf for a long time, UNUSED, and not break-down. Should I keep spare seals out of UV or in or NOT in a zip bag or other plastic container? Separate from each other? Some plastics like rubber bands get gooey when stored with other plastic. Store away from heat? What's best? Besides all the above, the containers are great. Compared to other military-looking, sturdy-looking hard plastic containers, the cost is not much different. These STACK nicely while others don't. The molded double-handles make easy carry. Now I have them, I am satisfied with price/performance, except I'd like a spare lid in the box.

Manageable water storage
When power goes out so does our water pump. For this reason we have kept 7 gallon containers full of water which are hard to lift for my husband and I, both in our 70s. After studying different styles I went with these and am so happy! These each hold enough water for drinking and flushing toilets without being too heavy, are BPA free, darker color to keep water, perfectly balanced with double handles for pouring, nice wide openings for cleaning, and food storage and stack or stand. No leaks. I did get 1-2 lids that leaked so matched them with different bottles to remedy. I then numbered the bottles and caps so that I’m sure to match up the correct ones in the future. I love that these fit in my cabinet and plan to rotate and use a couple every few months so that we always have fresh good tasting water. Pricey, but great quality. Definitely recommend these. I also purchased a 7th container with the filtration system as we are sometimes threatened with wild fires. This 7th container can be used in case we are in an area without potable water available.

Sturdy and Functional
No leakage. Sturdy. Works with the Aquabrick fitration system (sold separately). Good handle. Stacks nicely. When full of water, its not too heavy. One complaint - the containers' threads for the cap had plastic flash from the manufacturing & I had to trim the flash off. Made in USA!

Sturdy water storage containers
My son told me about these storage containers. At his suggestion, I filled them up and put them in our freezer. If the power goes out, they will help keep the freezer items cold longer. And when they thaw, we’ll have the water in them available for drinking. It’s a great product. Very sturdy and no problems with leaking when turned on their sides.

Almost perfect
I love how practical these are, however they are quite expensive for the state they came in. Three of the containers have a messed up seal, and slowly leak water. The Three that don't leak fit perfectly in the trunk of my car, and don't slide around since I put them on a small rubber mat. The Three that do leak water still function well when placed brightside up, and since I'm not going to be able to fit any more in my car, they work great when stored at home. You can also fill them with things like oats, rice, beans, etc. if they don't hold water well. They are made from high quality, non toxic plastic, and that's probably why they're so expensive.

Perfect for Long-Term Storage – No Leaks After 3 Months, Water Tastes Great!
I’ve had these AquaBrick 3-gallon containers stored for three months now, and they’ve performed perfectly—no leaks at all, even when stacked. The water still tastes clean and good (no plastic off-flavor), which is a big plus for long-term storage. They’re super easy to fill, carry (thanks to the built-in handles), and store neatly in a garage or basement without wasting space. The stackable design is a game-changer compared to round jugs. Highly recommend these for emergency prep, camping, or just reliable water storage!

Short term supplier problems right now
I bought the 6 pack of these and when I tested them out, they all leaked at the lids. The spigot lid worked on 5 of the 6 jugs. I emailed the company directly, at the address on the included card. The guy who answered the emails responded quickly. He said there had been a batch of bad lids and would send replacements. I got a replacement jug and lid, and 6 new lids in the box he sent. These lids still leaked. He wrote back and said their warehouse guy sent me the wrong lids again and he'd refund, but they figured out the lids were too big and asked if I'd give it a third chance so I did. He sent 6 more lids and they tossed in a couple of plastic spork knife camping utensils just for a little extra, which was a nice gesture. At this point, I've gotten 7 jugs, 18 or so lids, the spigot, and two camping utensils. Trying all combinations, I ended up with one jug and one lid that do not leak. The guy apologized again and said he'd process the refund and look at my return to see if they could figure out what is going on. He told me to keep the parts that are working and send the rest back and emailed a shipping label. So I put all the leaky parts back in the original box and dropped it off at ups. As soon as they scanned in the tracker number, I got a refund within a day. I ended up with one working jug and lid and spigot and the two sporks for the trouble. They seem like it'll work and the manufacturer is just having issues with their suppliers not using the correct specifications. It's worth the money if you get ones without issue, so it's worth trying. If you get faulty product, contact them directly to work out the solution. They tried to resolve the issues at no cost to me but time, and stood by their money back guarantee. I only spent time and one trip to ups in the end and got all the money back from the original purchase plus the working storage jug and accessories. They say they've been around for 10 years doing this stuff and this year (2020) has been terrible on everyone, so I think long term it's worth a shot. Maybe just not for the next month or two. Let them solve their current supplier issue.

Amazing!!!
These water containers are THE BEST!!!! We now have 16 of them in case of an emergency. They are superior quality, no smell and hold lots of water. Extremely happy with them. This is the second time we’ve purchased them and couldn’t be happier.

Get some PTFE plumber's Tape, then you are on a winner.
These Aquabricks are just the right weight when full of water. Easy enough to carry, extremely sturdy, and well designed to stack, be strapped down, or stored in different configurations. But the tap is vulnerable to getting knocked, and then potentially leaking 1 1/2 gallons of water on the ground. I complained, and was sent another tap exactly the same as the previous one. I had to find my own work around. If you pack enough PTFE tape over the thread, it forms a much better seal, and the tap stays on in a more sturdy way. Should that be necessary with an item this expensive? Definitely not. Having said that, I am glad I went for this product now I have resolved the tap problem. The tap functionality is very good, with a strong leak-free functionality.
