Solid build quality of the handle and blade. First timer here, and I'm really impressed at the sharpness and thickness of the blades. Allows for lots of pressure to be applied. Great set for beginners but I'd add on a spoon carver and a chipper tool. If you like the hobby and get into it you are going to want them. Pouch is good leather grade and holds the included knifes with comfort and safety. I also would recommend buying the basswood starter blocks from BeaverCraft. They are a hardwood but easy to carve.

Super sharp, nice knives cut through basswood very nicely. Leather case is very nice but came lightly used not new as expected.

This set arrived today, looking just as beautifully crafted as in their videos. The leather case is nicely stitched, and smelled as if it had been oiled but without feeling greasy. The walnut handles are very comfortable in my hand which is a larger small/smaller medium, and the wood grain is nice. For a "beginner" set, this is beyond my expectations. The only thing I could think to add would be a metal ferrule to better secure the blade into the wood handle. Time will tell how well and how long the blade stays in the handle. I am not anticipating any issues at all. Top quality!

Great set of knifes for woodworking projects. Sharp, stable in hand Protective covers are a big plus. Definitely recommended.

Wow are these sharp out of the package. Beware your fingers! Excellent edge rentention and the differing blade yltypes makes whittling/carving easier. The leather case is neat and it includes a leather piece to sharpen the knives and some compound to help in bringing that edge. Expensive, you bet. The cost is far outweighed by the cutting time and being able to resharpen them with the supplies given. Highly recommend for beginner wood carvers.

I bought the same carving set a few years ago and find them to be very well made, durable, and with ready-to use sharpness right out of the box. I just bought this set for my grandson.
