Eleeza: The Art of Eliza Ivanova

This is a wonderful showcase of Eliza Ivanova's art and creative process. I've always admired her loose/fluid style when it comes to linework and the way she draws faces and hands. A slight warning however, this book is more aimed at fellow artists - a significant chunk of it is dedicated to tutorials and interviews compared to other similar books. There's enough art on display to be worth it for non-creatives, but this is not a complete portfolio book from cover to cover. ** Sadly my copy got slightly damaged (bumps and scratches) from delivery. This was the first time a hard-cover book ordered from Amazon got deleivered in thin paper rather than cardboard packaging I won't reduce the rating like some do and hoping other don't get the same!

A beautifully presented hardback volume which both showcases the work of Eliza Ivanova and provides helpful instruction and a few demonstration examples of her working process. I was attracted to Ivanova`s work through her emphasis on drawing – she works initially using traditional graphic media and scans her work into the computer for further digital rendering – a fairly standard process for most graphic artists these days, but not always as well-described visually as it is here; pitched at the aspiring artist, her narrative and visual steps are clear and without undue technical fuss, her excellent draughtsmanship and imaginative methodology is inspirational and the examples of her work throughout the book are a pleasure to look through. The book itself is a lovely item. A fine volume; the tutorials are useful and the drawings are accomplished – it`s a real shame there is no “Look inside” option – do search on the internet for examples of her work.

Fabulous drawings and a unique approach to creating fabulous art with a limited range of materials. There are a lot of tutorials so it's not what I would call an art of book but there are just enough images to make it worth picking up if you like the style. There is also a section on life drawing and the way this artist draws expressive hands is particularly impressive. It's a quality hard back and the graphic design and layout is very good.

Love the book, so beautiful! *Hated the Amazon Delivery though, damaged corners due to no effort to protect the item. Came in cardboard only. No padding. Not happy with Amazon.*

It's more of a collection of tutorials than a traditional artbook, which is nice too but I would've preferred if it showed more of her artwork

Luckily, the book arrived in excellent condition without any visible dents. I'm very happy with the contents of the book, but have to concur with other reviewers in regards to the font size and the amount of negative space.

Absolutely beautiful, unfortunately as an artisan book it isn’t supposed to have dents and yet it has a dent that the pages are visibly damaged. I was going to return it but I don’t want the book to go to waste and since it’s still good looking I kept it. I’d recommend buying from the seller bookdepository directly from their website. All the pages are present and there’s no internal damage otherwise. Also Eleeza is one of my favorite artists

I wasn't familiar with this artist, but stumbled upon this book cover and then looked up some of their other work. I really enjoyed the expressive and unique portraiture style so I purchased the book. Not only is this a beautiful, large formatted art-book, but the artists also gives some valuable tutorials. Definitely a worthwhile purchase!
