OMG! If you are thinking about buying this bed then DO IT! You will not regret it! I received this bed yesterday and absolutely love it. Assembly is easy....I am a petite woman and managed to put the bed together by myself. The instructions are simple and clear. This is the best and most practical purchase I have ever made. Standard twin mattresses fit in the frame and trundle perfectly. The clearance from floor to frame is exactly 16 inches, finished length is 77 inches, finished width is 41 inches, finished height is 17 3/4 inches. There are no "sharp" edges on the frame. The metal mattress support slats are spaced 5 inches apart. Each slat is screwed into the individual slat slots in the main part of the bed frame. This is a very sturdy bed! The bed was delivered in the time frame scheduled with no damage. Kudos to the delivery team too! I could not find a shipping fee any where as low as the $99 that was charged to ship this bed so do not fret over the freight fee.

So first, the delivery was fine. No issues. It was on time and no damage, although I was missing one washer from the sealed bag. I had a usable spare, so not a big issue. The product itself could be better. The powdercoating is very thin and arrived with a few chips All of the metal parts arrived with a rust colored dust on them. I believe the inside of the parts had surface rust and the dust distributed itself everywhere during shipping. So you will want to wipe down all the parts and possibly give everything a clearcoat before use. The screws for the supports are very soft. I think I stipped the hex slot on each screw when tightening, (and I mean using only the provided wrenches). Make sure those screws are tight to avoid the metal from making noise when the user moves around. The product is fine for the price. Fairly lightweight and sturdy enough. The trundle bed is a bit tough to raise and lower, but this may improve with age. Double check that the locks are engaged when raised or lowered to avoid any surprises!

Edited (Original below): I really wanted to like this. The daybed seems strong, but the trundle buckled in the middle the first time my parents were in town to visit. I didn't notice until much later, and even so it was well beyond the warranty date. Sadly I appear to not be the only person who had this issue within the same ordering period, so I know it wasn't an error on our end. I really wanted to like this bed, but poor product design and manufacturing resulted in a buckle on the side on at least 3 different trundles ordered within 6 months of each other. That can't be a coincidence. If you want just a daybed and maybe plan on having a child on the trundle this wouldn't work. If you expect to have adults over to visit, don't bother. I love how much this saves space, but that's it. Now what do I do with the king-size bedding I got to fit the two beds together? Oh well. Original Review: I was wary about buying furniture through Amazon, but I do enjoy this frame. I wanted a daybed that doesn't look like Grandma's daybed, so I ordered a basic frame and will make my own headboard when I actually have the time to do so. Sturdy and easy to put together. The trundle is easy to operate, doesn't attack you or drop under the weight of a person, and stays in place once someone is sleeping on it. After my parents went home after Christmas, my husband was pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to put the trundle away.

We received our daybed frame in a timely manner, and were generally very pleased with the quality of it. It is strong and well made, and serves our purpose very well. However, when it arrived, the hardware (screws and washers, etc.) were loose in the box, and we were missing over half of the necessary parts. The company responded quickly, sending us a new hardware pack, but we had to purchase the needed pieces in order to complete the frame right away. Also, be aware that the frame is larger than a normal twin bed. A dust ruffle or comforter designed for a twin will not fit correctly, as the frame is somewhat wider than the mattress. We compensated by ordering a larger quilt and using it as a bedspread.

I assembled this bed by myself. I used a small stool to old one end up while working on the other end. Took me 2 hours. There's many screws involved with all the slats! The slats are metal and very durable. Much better than what I anticipated! I also purchased the matching trundle. This comes as one unit, no need to assemble. Pops up nicely and returns to locked, storage position easily. I highly recommend this entire unit to anyone needing to save space in a guest room. That's what I use it for. I placed a 10" thick memory foam mattress on the daybed frame. No need for a board underneath it. The slats support it very well!

The bed was shipped to me by a trucking company other than Prime because it was a large item that needed a couple of people to bring it into our house. This was a free delivery under our Prime membership and went very smoothly. I did get a call from the trucking company to arrange a date and time for the drop off which was a first for me in dealing with the shipment of an Amazon product. The best function of this trundle bed is that you can lay the double mattresses the long way on the frames instead of crossways with trundles that have backs and sides. We had guests that complained about the bump in the middle of the bed with our other trundle bed.

frame appears fairly sturdy but should have more support diagonally. The bolts are made of aluminum and strip easily. dont let the kids jump on this one. the pop up bed underneath works great and is well built. all in all, is ok for the money.

I bought these back in 2013, but forgot to write a review. These were heavy and hard to build, difficult to open, and warped within 4 years. When I called the company to discuss the warped metal and that they didn't function correctly (in terms of lifting up the bottom bed), I was told that there's nothing they can do and that I should find a local welder to fix it. Find an alternative, not worth it here.
