Flexible Flyer 30117 Ground Anchor Kit for Metal Frame Swing Sets

So, you buy a swing set for your kids/grandkids and after spending however long putting it together, you realize that just leaving it sit atop the dirt is a terrible idea. Personally, I think these should be included in all of their play sets because kids are going to do their best to try and tip it over, hang off of it like the wee primates they are and try to swing themselves as high as they possibly can. I have one of these, only one but she is a force to be reckoned with. It (swing set) doesn’t threaten to topple over on her or her friends/relations any longer. I highly recommend because without it we were looking at pouring concrete and inserting the posts that way. I really didn’t feel like doing this for something that will only be used for a few years. We’ve only had the anchors in for a month but the only time I can feel a little give is if I decide to swing. Which I shouldn’t be doing anyway but hey, it’s fun ( I am however, very small for an adult). I would say that it might not be safe for a child of more than 100 lbs if used daily. Total install time was under an hour, the instructions were essentially a picture menu but it’s pretty self explanatory. The only thing I don’t like is trimming and mowing around the posts even more than previously because of some of the chain being exposed.

I used this to tie down a trampoline and it worked great. We live in an area where thunderstorms with strong winds are common and I have seen other neighbors trampolines get away from them and even do damage. I completed the task solo and it took me less than 10 minutes. All you will need is a Phillips screwdriver and some pliers or wrench to hold the bolt. Hand tightening was pretty easily done too. The stakes twist in the ground but will probably not do any good if the opening of the stake is facing the object you are tying down. I put mine in as far as they would go to make sure the chain cannot slip out. Putting the strip around the bar was simple as was connecting the chain. The afternoon after completing the anchor kit we had a storm and the trampoline did not budge.

I bought this to go along with a swing set I purchased at the same time. This item came exactly as described and worked perfectly. It had all the right parts and was very easy to set up. I highly recommend picking up one of these kits if you plan on getting a swing set as most swing sets don't come with anchors. You don't want your kids flipping the swing set while they're on it, do you? Trust me, it's worth the couple extra bucks!

These do NOT work perfectly with my Flexible Flyer swing set. The directions are poor with no indication other than a picture of how it's supposed to look when it's all set up. Flexible Flyer swing sets come with anchoring points that this doesn't even use! I made them work, and they do hold the swing set down, but I'm not happy with it. On a positive note, the parts are good quality and they CAN work. They will do the job, just not necessarily the way the picture shows.

Not too bad a kit for a swing set; beats the price of concrete and burial of the posts all day. Bonus, you can move the set if you don't like where it's at. I did have to anchor in pretty deep in the ground due to the soft, sandy soil here, but pretty easy to set up. Overall, it works decent and we'll see how long the cadmium coating lasts. It took about 20 minutes to get all anchors in the ground and posts linked.

This only took about 20 min to install and makes the flexible flyer swingseg sturdy with my 3 toddlers on it (1, 2 and 3 years old). It still moves a tiny bit if I swing on the swings, but I'm larger than a 3 year old obviously! I just like to test things. All in all this holds the set in place and gives added safety and stability. This is a must with a small flexible flyer swing set!

It is simple. You receive flat bands, four of them that you bend or wrap around the legs of swingset, you then begin to thread bolt, hook chain to it, finish threading and cinch tightly. Sort of like a clamp, I recommend, putting stakes in first at an angle pointing inward to your frame, not towards your swings, . then attaching band and chain. Our metal swingset left me cinching on hole #2 and it is tight. I also used automatiic drill to help tighten and it worked like a charm. No slipping whatsoever. If you follow instructions, your swing won't go anywhere. No one trips on it. I suggest staking closely to your frame, you can fold chain in half as if to shorten chain and leave no inconvenice for weed eating or mowing.

I bought these to secure a swing set for my young granddaughters. The straight, hammer in anchors that came with the swing set loosened very quickly. The whole set wobbled and creaked when my 3 and 5 year old granddaughters played on it. I bought and installed these. The set is now secure, is quiet, secure and safe. Great product.
