## Description

Maxi-Cure extra thick CA is the best CA for most plastics, including GE’s Lexan MAXI-CURE is the best choice for plastic model assembly. When used with INSTA-SET, it works better than any putty for modifying or filling voids. It can be carved with a knife or razor blade and sanded and feathered to form a finish indistinguishable from plastic. MAXI-CURE bonds fiberglass, hardwood, metal and rubber better than any other hobby adhesive. For gluing to the inside, cloth textured surface of fiberglass, scrape the area to be bonded with a razor blade or coarse sandpaper before using MAXI-CURE or any other adhesive. It also is best for bonding the tires for R/C cars. INSTA-SET is a catalyst which acts as an accelerator that allows CAs to quickly cure in thick layers by enhancing the alkaline conditions during polymerization. INSTA-SET in a spray bottle is normally used to cure the CA that flows from joints when parts are pressed together. Applying an additional bead of thick CA along a seam and then curing it with INSTA-SET significantly enhances a joint’s strength. For difficult to bond materials, INSTA-SET can be applied to one surface and CA to the opposite surface. When brought together, they will bond instantly. INSTA-SET is formulated with a strawberry scent and activates CA in 6 to 8 seconds without any degrading of the CAs strength, which can occur with many other accelerators. Maxi-Cure is very popular in the archery industry for fletching, which is the bonding of feathers and vanes to the ends of the aluminum and carbon fiber arrow shafts. Review: Sticks where others don't. - I recently ordered this for the third time in as many years, and they last longer than that because I gave the first one away to a friend who needed it. This is good stuff. It is thick enough that it doesn't run, but thin enough that when you push two pieces together it spreads out and gets in the way. It will adhere and go through the 'grab and hold' we're all familier with, but it takes a moment, so you have a bit of time and leeway to work with it, but still, you have to be sure of yourself and be prepared. It can also serve as a void filler -- the spray-on accelerator gives almost instant hardening (note, it's a fine spray, it reaches beyond your aim, makes things slippery, and smells funny, though it doesn't irritate my eyes. However, it washes off easily with just plain soap and water. Not so the glue if you stick some to your fingers, so be careful, and maybe keep some acetone (fingernail polish remover) around. Anyway, this product has fixed everything from toys to containers to magnets on things to busted ceramic tiles, even a big one 20" square. I'm impressed, enough to buy it every time.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will it bond metal to gemstones?**
A: Not if you're talking about Infinity Gems and Gauntlet.  No CA adhesive is necessary as the gems will attach themselves on a quantum level to to gauntlet.  Take care, however, as once placed no amount of solvent will detach gems, so I recommend using worthless gems like diamonds for a 'fit 'n finish' test.

**Q: Does this bond silicone (platinum cure or rtv or both)?**
A: No it will not.

**Q: does the accelartor leave marks on the wood? Using it for picture frames.**
A: No, the accelerator did not leave marks on the wood when I used it on hardwood stairway handrails to do a return.

**Q: Anyone use this to fill a gouge in a bowling ball?**
A: Bowling balls are usually urethane or polyester resin based.  You are probably better off using epoxy for such a repair.  JB Weld should work.  If the gouge was huge and the bowling ball expensive, you could spring for a polyester resin based product such as what you would use for fiberglass work.   Only problem is it would be a bit thin.

Really thick CA . Great if you need a few seconds to get things aligned, and with the activator, it sets within a second. Great for making fillets.
