Works great to power bring alarm base station with POE.
I use this to power my ring alarm base station with POE. This allowed me to install the ring alarm base station on the wall, without having to run a separate AC power cable down the wall.

Nice little unit, does the job inexpensively
Already had a PoE "injector" unit, and this provided the needed downstream/terminating piece to run a non-PoE network switch. Included instructions are clear, and the unit comes with a length of Ethernet cable and a short DC female/female adapter cable for powering the device. Unit has an on/off switch, a selector for 5vDC, 9vDC, and 12vDC that should accommodate most devices, and there's a green indicator light. As-noted in another review, the plastic shell is thin and the unit feels a bit insubstantial. On the other hand, it's never going to be under physical load, so for the price I'm going to give it a pass on that score. Will very-likely buy again, Just To Have One Around.

Great product, works well, very affordable.
Compact, good looking units, working well for me! At first I ordered the individual units (injector & splitter) but then noticed they are available as a "kit" for less money, doh! I then ordered the kit too thinking I would return the individual pieces. However, on the kit (POE injector+splitter) the units are white plastic, are 10/100 only and non 802.3af compliant. The POE injector and splitter when ordered separately are black plastic, are gigabit and 802.3af compliant. Seems very odd. POE injector comes with the 48v adapter. I ended up keeping all of them. I needed to connect 2 building that are 150 meters apart with a CAT5e ethernet cable. The maximum cable length for ethernet is 100 meters. So I needed to divide the 150m into 50m and 100m sections then add a switch at the 50m mark. However there is no AC power anywhere between those two buildings. I used this TP-LINK PoE injector & splitter kit with the PoE injector placed at the beginning of the cable, the splitter (which acts like a switch) placed at the 50 meter mark powered from the PoE injector and the ethernet cable continues on for the last 100m. I don't use the 5/9/12V output for anything. I used the white units from the "kit", everything is working very well. Saved the black gigabit units for spares, might upgrade to the gigabit ones if client needs more network speed.

not compatible with IEEE 802.3AF POE Switches?
I am building a rather extensive video security network covering an area of about 40 hectares (100acres). About 75% of the cameras are in areas with no electricity which means that the installation relies highly on POE. We have a few POE cameras (that take the power straight from the POE switch) but the majority are 12vdc non-poe which means they require a POE splitter to convert in my case 52vdc (from the poe switches) to 12vdc.. the POE switches we have are 802.3AF/AT compliant and so far they worked flawlessly with all the POE cameras and most models POE splitters except the TP-Link (TL-PoE10R) . It works if powered by a passive injector (tried 48v and 52v) but does not work with the POE switches. The main problem however is that on a passive injector the adapter turns off by itself, randomly, without any apparent reason and has to be disconnected and reconnected in order to start working again. I bought two of these and both do the exact same thing so it would be unlikely that it is a defect...also tried with 3 switches. I also bought two of https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MOIDXZ0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which are only a few cents difference and the Trendnet model has no problem with the power from passive sources (48-52vdc tested) or smart POE switch. Both of these have a select-able output from 5 to 12v but obviously the Trendnet model is a better purchase. For those looking to power only 12vdc equipment (routers, cameras) the definite winner in my evaluation is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K4R6FQG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 at $7.50 each they all work very well either with passive injectors or smart POE switches....have 12 of these on different brand cameras .

PoE Splitter Package Contents
This review is for the TP-Link TL-PoE10R, 802.3af Compliant Gigabit PoE Splitter, 5/9/12V DC Power Output, Up To 100 Meters (325ft.), Power Adapter & Cable Included purchased in January 2023. I received version 5.6 as marked on the bottom of the unit. For anyone struggling to find information the box comes with the splitter, a short Ethernet cable, a 12" DC cable, and a paper installation guide. Both ends have a 5.5 x 2.1 mm, male plug for connection to a barrel jack. When powered from a PoE switch without a device connected the LED flashes. The manual does not say what a flashing LED indicates. The device is powering and communicating with an indoor ip camera just fine. In my case I still needed another adapter as the power connection on the camera is micro USB.

These reviews prove that people have no idea what a PoE SPLITTER is or how to use it!
Positive: It's a dead simple and easy to use product and does EXACTLY what it says and is advertised to do. Cons: None. If you know what you're buying and you know what you're doing then you won't have a problem. A PoE injector does exactly what is says. It INJECTS voltage into a RJ-45 cable to combine your data source with voltage which, in turn, will allow you to power a PoE device such as a wireless AP or PoE camera at the other end of the RJ-45 without the need for a power source for that device whereever the cable terminates. A PoE SPLITTER on the other hand does the OPPSITE! Of course it doesn't come with a power supply in the box like one of the reviewers left a negative review for. WHY WOULD A PoE SPLITTER COME WITH A POWER SUPPLY IN THE BOX!? My god man! You use this device for splitting the data and power that is already in your PoE injected data line. You can then run the power into a device that isn't PoE powered and the data into whatever you need the data for. An example of this would be APs that are not PoE powered. You don't have a 120V outlet where you want the AP, but you have a PoE powered data line. You place a PoE spitter there and run the data into the AP and use the dc barrel of the split voltage to power the same AP. Job done. I use these PoE splitters not for the data part, but to split out the DC power to be used to power some 12V 1A IR Flood lights to assist the PoE cameras at the same location that are using other PoE data lines. There's no 120V power there, but these splitters allow me to power the IR flood lights with the data lines that were already run in the past. Just have the lines plugged into a PoE switch wihtout data at the other end.

Works ok, but is an NOT ISOLATED power splitter. As long as the downstream device doesn’t connect to anything else, it would be safe to use. If you are using it to say power a hub or an RPi w/ HDMI, you risk forming a ground loop and something can burn out. See attached pic, the internals are a Buck converter, where a proper (and certified) PoE device should have a Flyback converter

They Work !!!!!
I have bought a number of these over a period time to be used in a commercial environment where PoE switches have not been a viable solution. They work ! ...what more could you ask :-)
