Okay for high school girls, but not a complete solution for serve receive
Does the job for high school girls. Despite claims of no ball wear, it's not true. It's not terrible, but you will be replacing balls sooner than if you did not put them through this machine. Poor design on the head tilt lock. It jams easily. Why not a simple cam lock? I assume the bungy cord design for helping to raise the serving head is to keep weight and expense down, but it is also a poor design. When you need the assist the most, raising the head to its highest level, the bungy delivers almost no help. The bungies are stretched when the head is at its lowest point. As the head gets higher, the bungies retract giving you no help. The serving head is heavy and my girls are not strong enough to raise it to its highest point. A big part of serve receive is anticipation and clues you get from the server's approach and arm swing. This device obviously does not replicate that. But, you can crank up the velocity and your girls will learn to handle balls coming at them faster than in the games, both float and top spin. Although advertised as useful for hitting and setting, you'll find that this isn't the case. It's chief use is as a serving machine. As a serving machine, it does just fine.
