Guweiz: The Art of Gu Zheng Wei

Beautiful hardback art book with insightful stories about Gu Zheng Wei’s journey as an artist. I have seen many of these creations online, but there’s a different feel to seeing them in print. As an artist, I really enjoy reading about his workflow and process. Every artist works differently, but there is always something to learn from others to help discover a new technique or perspective or to further hone one that is known. For those who would like an idea of the book’s layout: It starts with the introduction and 27 pages of his journey as an artist. An urban style gallery is presented from 36-51, his routine 52-64, and worldly 70-94. A fantasy gallery from 96-117, 3 project dissections from 118-147, and ends with a thank you. I have no regrets on this purchase.

One of the most talented illustrators I have ever found, and one of my favorites for sure! This artbook has his artistic journey, his routine, workflow, and beautiful galleries of his best works. The print quality is amazingly sharp and detailed, and the contents are really well organized and shown. I can't express how happy I am of having this book on my hands, thank you Guweiz! <3

This book is everything I’ve ever wanted in an an art book! Not only will you get plenty of art but you also get background story and process for each. The artist also brings a perfect amount of personality in the writing and it makes the book feel very personal and charming. He talks about how he gets his ideas, his inspirations as well as hardships which I really appreciate. Highly recommend this art book to any artist wanting to get some inspiration.

If you like the artist, you'll like the book, simple as that. Has some insightful information throughout it from how they started as an artist, their drawing process, inspirations, various tips, things like that. About what you'd expect in a book like this. Overall a very nice, high quality book. I do have one small complaint. A lot of Guweiz's works tend to be pretty dark, and the printing in this book is also on the darker side. It can be pretty difficult to see details in some of the artwork which is a shame. Granted, not a whole lot you can do about that I guess.

Amazing book

Beautiful art, wonderful incite and backstories, the quality of the book itself is amazing. The images are so rich and crisp, the texture and feel of it is the furthest thing away from cheap or bad quality. It seems like a lot of thought, precision and care went into the product itself just as much as the artwork.

Best artbook i’ve seen. guweiz is my favorite artist. I actually backed his kickstarter on his second book because this one was so good. buy this!

I love guwiez's art so much and the book is a must for fans. Ive had this on my shelf for months now and only now realized the covers text glows in the dark!

Mi sono innamorato di questo artista fin da subito, ancor prima di conoscerlo. trovavo infatti sovente i suoi disegni nelle mie ricerche online, senza ancora sapere chi fosse. L'arte di guweiz non è proprio un artbook, anche se è pieno di immagini a pagina intera, vi è anche un testo, per nulla invasivo, dove l'artista ci tiene a raccontare il suo percorso di apprendimento dell'arte digitale. Va detto che Guweiz non è un artista comune, la sua più grande peculiarità sono i soggetti dei suoi lavori, sempre e solo figure femminili forti in abiti maschili o da combattimento. Molte tavole di questo libro raffigurano infatti donne in armature da samurai e spadaccine. Se vi interssano, come a me, donne splendide e letali è l'arte che fa per voi. Gli do solo 5 stelle perché non so come corrompere amazon per dargliene 7 🙃

Libro de gran calidad, tanto en edición como en su contenido. Me encanta el arte del Guweiz. Considero este libro como un "must have" para todo fan que se precie del artista.
