Works like a charm
This ice maker works like a dream. This is the third type of this style that I've used, though the first Frigidaire. When it says it makes 26lbs of ice, it honestly does. It holds about 2 quarts of water at a time and works quickly. It isn't too noisy, I barely notice it running most of the time. The ice quality is good so long as you are using clean water. It doesn't really have a smell or anything other than a bit of a plastic smell at first. It looks great, sleek, modern, and fits perfectly on my shelf. To anyone worried about the reviews saying the ice cubes aren't long enough: you have to leave it running. This isn't the style of ice maker where you turn it on and use ice only when you want ice. This thing performs best if you leave it running throughout the day and get ice as you need it. I would recommend even getting some reusable ice bags to fill from it, or a plastic bin to dump it in to freeze it. If you only run it when you want ice, it will not reach the temperature you need for the large "cubes". Also, yes, I expect this ice maker will eventually get mold. You may see reviews of about mold on this product or another product. As someone who has been using countertop ice makers for about 7 years now, that is inevitable. It is a moist environment and there are a lot of places you simply cannot reach to clean. Just clean it regularly, use ice maker solution, and do your best. When it does finally seem to have mold that you can't beat, just replace it. I estimate each one lasts about 12-20 months, depending on your water quality and what you put in it. DO NOT put anything other than water as it will mold much, much faster.

Very nice and help me save money not buying bag of ice anymore.
Bought one last Dec 2022 and still works good. The size of the ice cubes are good, no noise. Always dry it good before storing. Will descale it before using again for the summer.

Makes ice in 8 minutes
I received this rather slowly, but after unpacking it, it was extremely simple to operate. No guesswork, and only a few buttons. I plugged it in, filled it with a couple of quarts of water, selected "small cubes" and in about 8 minutes the first batch was delivered, and every 8 minutes after that until the bin was full and "ice full" lit up on the control panel. I emptied the bin into a freezer container and pushed "start" again. It takes about an hour and a half to fill the bin, which is equal to about two ordinary ice cube trays, which is about a quart of water, so in three or four hours, you have the equivalent of four ice cube trays to store in your freezer. The "large" ice cubes are about 50% bigger than the "small." Neither is really large, but I prefer the small size. They also work better in my ice crusher (Hamilton Beach) for even finer ice for super cold drinks. This machine does make a little noise from the fan and when it empties the ice into the bin, but it's a kind of reminder that it's on, because if you leave it in the ice maker, it will melt and then make the same ice over and over, which is terribly wasteful. It is not a freezer. You have to get some plastic bins from 99 cent store or Walmart and then find a place in your freezer. Occasionally the ice will be melted slightly, causing it to stick together in your plastic containers. If you get a metal ice scoop you can break the ice apart with that. Even better is a meat tenderizer mallet which will break it apart in just a couple of whacks. This is small enough to fit in an out of the way place (on a low table, for instance) yet big enough and fast enough to make plenty of ice for everyday use or parties.

Great ice maker but ice is wet
I bought this because my ice maker in my fridge quit. Rather than buy an expensive new fridge I thought I’d try this. It sits on my counter nicely and does its job. It’s easy to use. The only issue I have which kept me from giving a full 5-star review is that I have to dump the ice into my freezer with almost every cycle otherwise it gets wet and sticks together in large clumps in my freezer. If I wait until the basket is full to dump into the freezer it’s a bit of a mess and I have to take an ice pic to the stored ice in the freezer to get it apart. Not a huge deal breaker for me but a bit of a hassle. The product description is clear that it is made to make ice not store ice, but you’d think it would keep it cold enough long enough for the basket to fill. Again, not a huge deal and we work around the wet ice sticking together in the freezer. Overall I’m pleased with it and would purchase again.

Good Purchase
I bought this because our refrigerator ice maker cannot keep up with our needs. If I am around the house one or two days a week I spend some time making ice and store it in the freezer to supplement. This makes a bin of ice relatively quickly, however, there is no freezer component to this ice maker so it melts as it fills up. If you are not on top of emptying the bin when it gets full the ice obviously melts. When the ice is made I usually just dump it into a large freezer bag, freeze it until the next bin is ready, smash the bag to loosen the previous ice that I had put in there (which freezes into a solid chunk because it was melty) and repeat that cycle until I have about 2 bags made. It is really not as much work as it sounds. If I were to have a party I would probably make ice ahead of time as I do not think this would make ice fast enough for a group larger than 4. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and for the price point, it works well.

I bought this one because a friend had one similar, branded differently, but I thought it was the same one. It is! Let it sit if it’s been turned over moved, around in shipping etc and fire it up. Started making cubes as quickly as I expected. Remember....it’s not a freezer so remove the cubes as soon as the tray is getting full or sooner if you want them to keep. Don’t worry if you don’t though, they will just keep recycling until you use them. I’m very happy with this maker! Edit….if you’re having a hard time getting ice quickly try this little tip. Add some ice to the water when you turn it on for the day. Ice starts making sooner and the cubes are larger! (Added this two years after purchase)

I eat ice the way people eat chips, no I don't have an iron deficiency. So this machine makes perfectly shaped ice in record time, is fairly quiet and easy to use. Turn it on, fill the water and in a few minutes you got ice popping out, highly recommended.

We have bought a few of these. One for our house, one for our holiday trailer and a couple for gifts. Just love it! There is always fresh ice.
