Booted right up after I put the disks in.

If you buying this from Aventis, don't. They sent me a DS223+ instead of the DS281Play and the 16TB hard drive was missing. Ordered a Buffalo HAS from Amazon instead.

Easy to set up. Very reliable.

I ordered this as a package (I did not order the drives separately, nor were they listed in the product description except as follows: "SSD Storage: 2TB (2 x 1TB) SATA III Solid State Drives for Ultra Fast Storage"I would have expected the order to come with compatible drives and we shall see if they fail in anyway - an updated review could follow.

Don’t buy this product. They’re selling the SSDs that are incompatible. This seller should not be in Amazon prime. This seller needs to be reprimanded for selling a defective product!

I was hoping for a Storage, File and DLNA server. This product does two of these. No DLNA options which I suppose was my fault for not looking at it more closely. I also had some technical issues with the device, which the company took FOREVER to respond. I called on a Friday morning and their offices were closed, I emailed support and it took 4 DAYS to respond. I had already sent it back by then.Other than the support issues the device was fast enough and worked well. The interface is a bit dated - about 1984 era level of GUI but it worked.

Got it very fast, my it guy installed it fast & easy.
