Highly Recommended Knife -- Exceeded My Expectations!
This Excel Retractable Knife is almost identical to the X-acto X-Calibre of 30 years ago. The Excel knife accepts the X-acto X295 blades, which look exactly like the blade that came with the Excel Retractable Knife. The Excel knife also has a very similar appearance to the black version of the X-Acto Deluxe Retractable Blade Knife, which sells for over $8.00 more. The Excel knife has a retractable blade and a pocket clip which allows me to carry it with me at all times without having the blade exposed. I carry other conventional X-acto-type knives in a plastic box for more demanding and accurate cutting, which can be done with their far less expensive replacement blades. However, the Excel Retractable Knife is nearly indispensable to me for quickly separating the protective backing material from the adhesive on vinyl decals and vinyl moldings. This knife is also great for everyday jobs, such as removing cellophane and thin cardboard from packages.

Don't you love it when you find the perfect tool to solve your random issues?
I am in love with this tool - let me tell you why. I am also a lover of lattes. I have developed a silly pet peeve related to the lids used for to-go cups. The venting hole is too small which causes two problems: one - it restricts the flow of coffee when sipping, and two - when you do sip it makes a grating air-suck noise that drives me crazy. I know these are silly things. To solve this problem I used to keep a pen in my handbag to use to expand the hole. Now that the coffee shops are upgrading to compostable lids (yay!) the material is a bit thicker so when I tried I either wasn't able to pierce the lid with the pens at all or I would try so hard that it would burst open the lid, the cup, or both. I tried several implements that were the shape and size of a pen but without an open sharp end so I could carry it in my handbag. It took nearly 5 years of hunting before I happened upon this retractable craft knife. It might be a silly little problem and a silly little tool but it still gives me great joy. It's good to pause to be grateful for the little things, right?

Good as the original Exactos.
I used to buy these from Exacto, guess they quit making them. Very useful, I’ve been carrying these pocket clip knives for decades. This brand is exactly like the originals from Exacto and performs equally well.

Very useful pen knife
Great blades from excel. Again for very small things and/or thin materials. Don’t try to cut an oak tree down and say they aren’t sharp or they are bad quality. Good fast shipping. A bit pricey for the blades though.

Loved the retractable pen type. The blade is very sharp but how long the retractable bit will last I do not know ok up till now. Wanted the blade to cut paper and thin material which it does. however, I bought the pen end December 2021 went to change the blade (as was recommened with it) today 28/02/2022 and they are way too big as shown in picture not a happy bunny waste of money. If anyone knows the correct blades for this pen and what I can buy to fit the larger baldes I would be most grateful

Been looking high and low for a replacement for the broken plastic half 3D printed Graphtec pens we’ve used at work for 20+ years which they no longer make. For weeding out vinyl lettering. This is incredible! Looks like I got the last one in the UK. We need more!!!! Top notch metal construction, smooth action.

This is a great well-made hobby knife. I bought this to replace a Judikins brand that had a plastic lower barrel that cracked from the pressure exerted to cut. The Excel K47 has a metal lower barrel so that won't happen. The blades from my old knife work in this one, too, which is great as I don't seem to find blades specific to this knife listed on Amazon.
