HP cartridges always work well and give long service.

In my experience it is best to stick with the product made by the same company as devise it will go in. I had bought a 'compatible' product at a much lower cost, but it did not work well in the printer and made lousy copies, so I've gone back to the HP product line and am very satisfied!!!

I have made the mistake in the past of trying out non-HP, third-party substitute toner cartridges and I have always been disappointed. Although original HP OEM, high-capacity toner cartridges like this one are expensive (especially after the tariffs added about $20 to the price), I still prefer them for their trouble-free operation. The print quality is consistently excellent, no smearing, and they are easy to replace in the printer. If you are going to spend the $ anyway, I would recommend going with the higher capacity 206X versions like this one. For the amount of printing we do (low to medium?) a cartridge lasts us about 1.5 to 2 years.

It fits the HP MFP M283 laser printer perfectly as it should. Would I prefer the price to be less, of course. This appears to be the going rate in my area.
