Magnifying sheets work very well!
The magnifying sheets are perfect and very helpful for older folk to see better. The sheet has to be held an inch or so above the item you are trying to read. I wasn’t able to find any that lay flat on the page and magnify it. This product arrived promptly and in perfect shape.

like an old LP cut into it
From the pictures I could not figure out what it was or how it worked. It is about as thick as 3-4 pieces of paper. Made out of clear flexible, but stiff, plastic, and it has concentric grooves, like an old LP cut into it. It is as light as a feather and you can hold it a long time, unlike some heavier chunky magnifiers. It works perfectly for all my purposes, usually reading newspapers and small print on medical forms. THE BEST SINGLE THING ABOUT THIS, AND WHY I USE IT MORE THAN ANY OTHER: It is like a few sheets of paper and can be placed inside my IPAD when I close its 'booklike' binder. Then, I carry it with me automatically when I have my IPAD. I have a large and powerful magnifier, with no bulk, that stays clean and dust free inside my IPAD cover. The smaller one that is included, I place inside my wallet with the credit cards. It is useful for reading the tiny print on my drivers license and such. I strongly recommend it for people that need a powerful magnifier that is extremely portable.

joy, joy but even with those I still have ...
I need help with my reading of tiny print and now it is getting to where I need help with normal print. I need larger print but it is hard to find all books in a larger font-text.. I already had to start wearing bi-focals, joy,joy but even with those I still have problems reading and that is my ALL TIME FAVORITE THING TO DO IS READ (right now I have my page and font larger so i can see what I am typing in my review). I surf Amazon and the Internet a lot in search of things I want but most of the time it is for things I need and came across Premium 3X (300%) page Magnifying lens with three bonus travel lenses, read the descriptions on them and was happy with what I read so I ordered them. They arrived on the date that was specified and was packaged for protection. The big lens was light and very flexible and was easy to handle, the smaller ones were just the same. NOW I have never really used a magnifying lens that was flat before so it took me a minute to get used to the way the text would look through it. The big lens fits well over my book pages and my tablet screen when I need it. It does help to enlarge my text and the smaller ones come in handy when I am at the store and need to read a label to see ingredients, the fine print on warranties and to see prices on products. It has helped BUT the reason I did not give a 5 star rating was that when I look through the lenses I haft to hold them up and there are times the text is still blurry, BUT AGAIN I do no know if that has to do with my eyes and my bi-focals and I do suffer eye strain quite often due to working on computers all day SO I AM STILL RECOMMENDING THESE magnifying lenses to others who need to enlarge the print that they are reading, they do help. Others may not experience the blurriness that I do.

It's Very Lightweight, But Slightly Problematic
I bought two magnifiers together; this item and the "MagniPros Magnifying Glass with [10 Anti Glare & Dimmable LED Lights] 3X+5X Dual Power Lens-Ease Strain Eyes & Provide Evenly Lit Viewing Area for Reading, Low Vision, Seniors and Macular Degeneration." I highly endorse the latter of the two. I own several magnifying glasses of different types so when I say this item is slightly problematic I have compared it to the others I've had to use. I bought this item because I liked the idea that it was wide enough to put over a book page from side to side. To be honest, the fancier item I purchased does a much better job of side to side magnification and it has less reading area width on it. When I got this item it had some type of smudge/something or other stuck to it that took me quite a while and lots of elbow grease to get to come off the smooth side of it, but once I did the light was the only problem I was having. INDOOR LIGHT: While this item is light as a feather, it's inconsistency in magnification makes one half of it lacking. This is plastic with a circular pattern of rings on it; the rings on the left seem to offer a decent magnification, but the rings on the right of the circle seem like they're at a different angle slightly which makes it seem like you're walking in a house of mirrors at a carnival. The rings pick up the florescent lights on my kitchen ceiling all the way over on the sofa in the living room and that glare on the magnifier itself distorts what I'm trying to magnify. When you watch TV in the dark and you want to look at something with this it has the same light interference, except the distortion is at the top of it coming from the direction of the light sources. I found you also have to hold this much further away from what you're looking at to get a decent magnification; depending on the lighting sometimes too close to my eyes for my comfort. NATURAL OUTDOOR LIGHT: Having said all that, it does work A LOT better in natural light. I took my book and this magnifier outside on the porch and the natural light from the sun made it perform so much better - no distortion in magnification on one half of the item. I didn't have it in direct glare from the sun - not walking downstairs in the Florida heat to test it. If you're going to sit in a comfortable chair or hammock outside in the shade, it's a wonderful companion for any book as it's very lightweight. You will want to make sure the entire lens is over the book as it will magnify ANYTHING far away to the point of distraction. LOL! When I tested it in front of my second floor apartment, the portion that wasn't directly over the book was magnifying the parking space markers, bushes, etc. If you're reading a small paperback, just use one of the additional smaller magnifiers that come with this product - I'm sure they will do just as well outside. I recommend this product to anyone who carries around a backpack or a purse big enough to hold an iPad or tablet. In my opinion, it would be great for outdoor use - trying to read store signs with small print or papers on an outside bulletin board with small print. It's very lightweight and durable, but I think it performs much better outside than in inside, artificial light environment. If you're looking for a good indoor magnifier, try the other product I mentioned above. It's heavier, but has a wonderful crystal clear view that comes with its own adjustable light source. If you order both you'll have several extra small magnifiers to share with others.

Provides less than 3X (300%) magnification.
Bausch & Lomb 2X Magna-Page Full-Page Magnifier with Molded Fresnel Lens, 8.25 x 10.75 Inches (819007) The product does not provide 3x or 300% magnifying. Here is my test. Put the lens against the printed page. Put a ruler on top of the lens. Move the lens away from the page to the maximum magnification where the print remains readable. I understand that an inch of print would appear as three inches of print for 3x. This product manages less than two inches. The three bonus bookmark magnifiers work pretty well. There is no performance claim for them and they magnify over 2x using this test. They are small enough for purse or pocket and there are three of them to leave around the house. My 90 year old father with macular degeneration found the best item, which actually worked for him, is the Bausch & Lomb Sight Savers Magna-Page Full Page Magnifier 2X Power (on Amazon, but a bit difficult to find).

This item was purchased to aid a senior with macular degeneration who was finding it difficult to do what she loves the most: reading the morning paper. It's size, shape, and lightness of weight worked well for her -- she now is back to reading her paper. The three pocket size magnifiers are handy in that she can keep them where she needs them (in her purse, in her medicine cabinet, etc.). Shipping was quick and the price was excellent.

Ridiculously small - why even bother making them or think people will use them.
