This short story was excellent! It has great explicit sex scenes, and she's very descriptive. It's a great romance and I thought the ending sucked but then you read the excerpt from one of her other books and your so thankful that it is just a starting point for the real story! Now I can't wait to read her book!

I started this Amazon freebie after I finished my current read while away from home. What started off as a romp quickly turned into a very promising and enjoyable sexy, erotic read only to end abruptly. Lucky for me I kept clicking my Kindle (in disbelief) past the acknowledgement only to discover that there is indeed a sequel Down with Cupid. 1) Weekend Lover (Novella #3) 2) Down with Cupid (Novella #4) Weekend Lover opens up with Nicole Harrison sitting in a Chicago hotel bar after a long day's work. A man's leg brushes up against her and looks up into the handsome face of Sebastian Clark. They sit by the bar half-flirting, half-bantering for a while and decide to have a one-night-stand. To keep it impersonal they agree not to discuss work and limit the personal info. Sebastian rents a suite.... Hero: Sebastian Clark/30's/Publicist/black hair/blue eyes/tall Sebastian Clark; other than he is a very skilled and accommodating lover we learn very little about him, because they both agree to not to talk about themselves nor work. I highly recommend reading Weekend Lover and Down with Cupid as a set. The writing this erotic romance is very good, The sexy times are hot and real. The characters human and compelling. I was really enjoying myself right until I slammed into the ending. This isn't a story story like the subtitle implies but rather the first part of a two (or more?) parter. Grrr. I am glad I found this writer though and look forward to her more complete works. I pick this up for as a Freebie.

My first book by Melissa Blue. I thoroughly enjoyed this short story. Loved the whole idea of a one night stand turning into a weekend of lots of loving. I liked the reality of it and also the fantasy of it. The characters had chemistry and the passion was sizzling. The sex scenes were smoking hot. This short story fulfilled my need for an escape and some quick excitement. The ending was surprising.

What woman hasn't entertained the fantasy of being swept into a weekend affair with a handsome stranger? Nicole and Sebastian's story allows those of us without the nerve to live vicariously through them. Although it was a short read the characters were very well developed and their witty banter was was fun and flirty! (And the sex was hot!) I definitely can't wait to read more about these characters! I guess I don't really understand the reviews on this one. I "bought" the book because it was free, but even for a free book I didn't think it was great. Nicole and Sebastian meet in a bar. Nicole tries to resist, but Sebastian wears her down. They end up getting a hotel room and have a night of no holds bar sex. They are going to go their separate ways, but see each other the following night and the same thing happens. The thing I hated about this book was the non ending. They have sex for a second night and then the book ends. I felt like I needed to understand what happens from there. Do they stay in touch? Date long distance? etc. Not a huge fan of books that don't leave you with that complete feeling.

The first of two books written about these characters, Down with Cupid is a fun read where a steamy one night stand turns into an even hotter three night encounter. Is there potential for more? Probably, but you won't find out for sure in this book... must read the sequel for this story conclusion. The main characters have great chemistry. This is a fun and tantalizing sexual romance with a great story line too!

I did enjoy this read, it was a fun short story. It got straight down to it, if you know what I mean! But that often happens with a short story, no room for the padding, ie the background or history of the characters. But then thats what they're designed for .. a quick wham bam thank you ma'am. I would still recommend though.

good fun read. Wow! fireworks in the bedroom! I see it's the beginning of a series... hopefully I will catch more of these two protagonists.

As a short story, this book is ok. but it did make me want there to be a second book which luckily there was just to finish the story off. It's a quick read so if you have 30 minutes to spare, this is an ideal book.

The story was okay. The characters were interesting. The middle and ending was better than the beginning of the story.

I enjoyed this book and would consider buying more from this author.it's well written and has an interesting storyline ..I would consider recommending to friends
