Studio Bench - Black

The bench is sturdy but the main component of a art horse is the stand that holds up your drawing pad. The T-Stand on this horse is held up a painfully flimsy welded thin piece of metal that is barely hanging on to the frame of the horse. It is bound to break at the slightest bit of pressure. Its going to be too frustrating to return this product so I'm just going to leave a warning for future buyers. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT!

I love the simple setup and the design looks so sleek. I wanted an art horse instead of an easel and am an art student so one of the two was totally necessary. I couldn’t be more satisfied! The seat is so plush and everything assembled together perfectly. It does not feel like it is made for a heavy person but it would probably support up to 250 lbs, and I saw another review saying how it was too short but it looks pretty normal sized compared to the art horse benches we have at my school. I love it and will recommend this product to any artist, I saved so much money from buying an expensive art store easel and I feel like the stainless steel made this a 10x better purchase. Great Price, comfortable - however, be very carful when you put it together. The screw threads strip out easy. UPDATE: I have been using this for a little over 4 months now, and aside for the one screw that stripped out, this product has stood up to some heavy use. As a freelance artist, I spend several hours each day using this bench, and it has not become unstable or rickety. The adjustable media rest is awesome, it lets you reposition the angle of your working platform easily. Would I suggest this to aspiring artists - Yes I would. If you take any illustration or art class, you will find artist horses in the class room. This product offers an affordable way for you to recreate that environment at home. It is also small enough to put away in a closet when not in use. Upgraded to 4.5 stars!

It is metal; that is the best part. Worst part? One of the bolts of the seat do not line up and thus I cannot screw it in. I do not think it can be fixed. Maybe I will find a way to keep the bench from falling apart. Not made for heavy people. One day I may build my own wooden bench. Then I will know for certain it is solid and sound and will last.

The lower part of the bench seems fine and I suppose is sturdy enough, but the bar that is supposed to stabilize your drawing board and/or drawing pad is not anchored well and is very swingy and unstable. Best thing you can do is plan on having a board to anchor your pad to in order to add stability. Not a total waste, but not really worth the 90 bucks or so. Had I the time, I could have built a better bench from scrap wood.

Three of the designated bolts for attaching the seat are too short to reach their threaded receptacles. I had to use different bolts that I had purchased from a hardware store. Unsatisfactory product.

absolute garbage. Could not even install the sitting plate cause they sent the wrong bars and screws.

Comfortable, but a little shaky, need to tighten the screws once in a while. I have been using it for a few months now and I am still happy with it. I think it is a good purchase for the price.
