Does it work on metal, like golf clubs?

Can other stamp lettering kits be used with this ?

No, other stamp kits will not function with this kit. These are Spring loaded stamps. Each character has its own spring. Unless you some how balance one of the spring-loaded stamps on top of another kits character, you will then stamp your other kit on top and hopefully have enough energy to transfer to the other stamp for it to show on the object.
