I'm certainly no expert as this is the first flagpole I have ever purchased, but it has definitely exceeded my expectations. Everything came exactly as described (pole, mounting bracket, hardware, etc), installation was a breeze (maybe 5-10 min), and in a pretty windy first week of duty, it has performed beautifully. The spinning capability is excellent and has prevented our flag from joining a lot of our neighbors' flags which are regularly twisted and tangled around their flagpoles. The mounting bracket is also nice as it provides a lot of flexibility for choosing your mounting angle. I was worried about slippage with that type of mount, though, fearing it might slowly fall down over time, however, hat fear was put to bed as soon as it arrived. The mount has individual teeth that, once you have selected your preferred position,you are able to clamp down in place.

The flag is absolutely the best! The quality is amazing. The problem I had is the mount did not fit where the old one was. Seriously, less than 1/4 inch difference. So I bought several brick/concrete drill bits to drill new holes on the other side of the garage. 4 bits and a very sad drill later, I don't have even one hole drilled. I can't stress enough how much I LOVE the quality of the flag. Exceptional. I will find a way to make it work.

No roll-ups, no tangles. The product does what is says it does. My husband installed it, no assembly problems, it was packaged well, arrived on time, nothing missing. It is worth the price. In the video there was a good breeze but not very windy. The flag pole wobbles but I am not concerned. About the 5th time I put my flag out, the pole was blown out of the bracket/sheath. I don't remember if it was a super windy day. But if it was windy, the wind must've caught the flag just right and pulled the pole out of the bracket. No harm, no foul, my flag and pole were undamaged. However, I don't think I knew at the time there is a tightening screw on the other side of the bracket/sheath that helps to secure the pole in place. I do wish the sheath was a little deeper. The pole has not come out of the bracket again. I try my best not to put my flags out on windy/stormy/threat of storm days but it has happened. Flags/poles were good when left in inclement weather but I did bring them in as soon as I remembered or when I got home. Hope this review/photos/video helps!

If you're going to mount a flag to the side of your house, you need a spinning pole. The spinning section allows the flag to rotate around the pole in the wind, instead of wrapping itself around the pole or tying itself in knots. This pole seems to be of good quality. It's definitely an upgrade over the cheap plastic poles out there. But there are a few things that concern me. Under the weight of a high-quality 3x5 nylon stitched American flag, the pole droops slightly. It could be a bit more rigid. I'll be watching to see if the pole suffers when wind-loaded by the flag. The flag clips to the pole via two lightweight chromed wire-type snaps. I've seen snaps like that rust or wear out and fail to close. They could be a bit better quality. The lower snap is attached to a transparent plastic bracket with a plastic set-screw; time will tell how it holds up to UV light exposure without becoming brittle. But it may turn out that these worries are unfounded. The mount has a good range of locking angle settings, and clamps tightly with hand tightening of the comfortable plastic knob. (Other mounts I've used have a plain wingnut that rusts and thus requires pliers.)

The flag pole is terrific! I live near the ocean and the winds are constant here. The flag never tangles and seems to be handling the high winds just fine. I've only had it up a little less than a month so I can't tell if the salt air is going to wear it down, but only time will tell. Update: 8/9/16 I've had my flag pole for about 6 months now. Like I said I live on the coast and the ocean breeze is steady and quite strong at times. I've found the knob that holds the pole in the bracket seems to loosen and the wind lifts the flag out of the bracket (pole and all) and I find it on the ground. The easy fix to that is for me to check the knob once a week or so. However, about a week ago I found the flag on the ground and saw the pole was broken. About 3" up from the bottom, it just bent and snapped in two. Knowing there's a 1-year warranty on the pole I reached out to Grace Alley. A week ago I emailed them with a picture of the broken pole. When I didn't hear anything after a few days I started calling. I can't get a real person so yesterday I left a message for customer service with my order number and all my contact info. Nothing yet. I don't know how else to reach these people, but there's nothing that burns my butt more than shoddy customer service...and when I can't reach the company it really irks me. Not sure what avenue to take. Maybe to bombard them with email.

When I first started using this pole I loved it. It never tangled or wrapped around the pole. I thought this would be my flag pole from now on. Then the problems started. 1st: within a month or so the clips that held the flag rusted very badly and got rust stains on my flag. 2nd: It was not long afterwards that the gold chrome from the top of the pole peeled off and became black plastic. 3rd: After 10 months of use I found my flag and the front piece of the pole laying in my driveway. After looking more closely I noticed that the large pin that was suppose to have a plastic grommet attached that screwed into the bottom pole had broken loose from the grommet and was not repairable. 4th: In addition to number 3, when I was checking the pole, I noticed that the pole had bent at the base where it slides into the pole holder that screws onto the house. It was not a bad bend because I did not notice it until I removed it from the holder but it was bad enough to wrinkle the metal, and at that point could continue to completely collapse in a strong wind. 5th: I was not very happy about this but decided that maybe it was worth ordering another since I really liked the fact that my flag never wrapped around the pole so I bit the bullet and ordered another one hoping for better luck. When the pole arrived it did not have a clip to hold the bottom of the flag. I called the company to see if they could send me the clip and save Amazon from paying to return the entire pole. All I got was voice mail with a promise that they would return my call as soon as possible. I left that message yesterday morning and still no return call. This morning I boxed the pole up and am returning it to Amazon. I have found another flag pole on Amazon that looks like it will do the same thing as this one so I am going to give it a try. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with Grace Alley. It would have been so easy for someone to engineer a pole that is strong enough to support the flag it is designed for. It also, would only cost a few pennies more to make the clips from stainless steel instead of something that will rust all over my flag. Their customer service is nonexistent so I am done with them.

This flag pole kit is exactly as advertised. Not difficult to mount, in our case on the garage door trim. The metal pole comes in two parts, the rigid section and the upper section which spins. The mount is metal and does seem to be well made, and locks the pole in position firmly. The pole and mount got a first test right away as it was the wind is blowing pretty hard this particular day. The flag stayed in place even though at times it was standing nearly horizontal to the ground. I'm glad we decided to purchase this flag pole kit.

As far as the product goes, it works great. I have had it on a wooden column for about a month now, and is still standing strong. The bracket itself was easy to install, though I wish it came with a printed patter that I could just adhere to wherever I am mounting it on, because it was a little hard to mark the holes on my own and ended up screwing one of the holes up. The tangle free rings work great on the flag; I mounted a 3' x 5' flag and has not tangled once. I am not sure if it would be the same with a larger flag, but that is as big as I would probably go anyway. My house has 4 front columns so I think I will eventually hang more flags and use this same bracket again.
