Used these for an external Android headunit for my car. The audio wire was bended so I wanted to route it in a better angle, this helped me and the stereo works normally, no problems with audio quality whatsoever.

Useful adapter for tight spaces. I used them in my portable gaming station/briefcase.

Using this on a DSLR camera for news reporting where we can have 2 mics. They work fine but the male side isn't as secure a fit as everything other device we have and can slide out a little too easily. This is true for both in the two pack. Fortunately not a deal breaker as our camera isn't being moved much during this setup. This may not be an issue at for most people, but it was a little too odd not to mention. The right allows our adapter breakout cables,which have long stems, to work more easily on our cameras.

Worked for speakers

I have a company and a client laptop positioned vertically on my desk (clamshells closed). I pipe the sound out through the headphone jack on each laptop to a sound switching device which permits me to hear the sound from the same set of speakers depending with whom I am meeting with remotely. The barrel from the male 3.5mm cable sticks out from the side of each laptop. Adding one of these first to the laptop and the cable into it not only reduces the chance that something will get caught on the barrel (or break off if struck hard enough), but helps to avoid the cable itself being bent or strained. Sound quality is equally good now as it was before. The male pin itself fits snaps solidly into the headphone jack. Recommend!

Works well
