My husband thought I was crazy for ordering this but turns out the bees used it! We put it on our porch and enjoyed checking it throughout the summer to see if there had been any new occupants. Nearly every hole was filled by the end of summer. It lasted the whole season and is still up on the porch so the quality is good. Our porch is covered so I can’t speak on the weatherproof part but it did hold up through some sunny days.

Very cute and works as shown

Didn't come packaged the best (no outer box, just plastic around the thin display box). Was a little dinged up from transit, but not too bad to illicit a call to customer service. Box was kinda torn in places and many of the shavings from the butterfly area fell out in shipping. With a lil work i got them all back in there. Purchased 2 critter hotels (separate residences). Both are being used by carpenter bees within the first few days! 1 residence had carpenter bees making tunnels in a family heirloom (old growth burl that had been made into a stool). We sat one of these critter hotels on top of the stump and the bees seem to be moving out of the stump and into the hotel! Woohoo! Great way to save the bees, our home, and help out all the critters. 10/10 practical/works as described 8/10 durability 7/10 packaging 10/10 value for the price

Came exactly as pictured, it feels very sturdy and it is extremely easy to assemble. It’s fairly large. I’m not sure how it will hold up in Midwest weather when I set it up this spring but so far it’s a win

Cute, should be a good temporary spot for the random butterfly bee or lady bug here that needs it in case they get lost on the way to their preferred sleeping arrangements and it gets too late for them or just a quick nap. plenty of spots for multiple insects of the same species. Also has spots for larger winged beetles as well. We got it for our laborious bees here and there's plenty of spots for them to cozy up. HOWEVER, Wood shavings fell out in the box during transport and couldn't manually put back in with poking my fingers on the metal screen and the wooden roof was split due to not being in proper shipping packing material. The other bug hotel I got has a metal roof which kept it intact for shipment. The manufacturers box was also bent and dented. Whoever packaged this product for shipment really failed safeguarding the product. Very haphazard. Not that I think the bugs will mind it too much - sort of like a low budget air bee n bee, but I doubt this will last a few years with the elements as a result. Luckily I don't live in a place with extreme weather changes so it might be ok. Just something to think about when buying this for wherever you are if their packaging department is complacent about quality care in handling its products for shipping.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Super cute. Would be great if the top was stainless steel vs wood. But it's adorable and a nice addition to the garden. No bugs as of yet likely due to where it was plaaced. You do need to place in an ideal environment -ex. Where rain won't get in it and avoid areas where wind blowing would make it sway. I would love for the buggies to come and make it their home but even if they don't it's nice to look at 🙂
