The single reason I bought this product is based on my extensive research of available scientific data : trying to find a calcium supplement , that would minimize the risk for cardiovascular disease/plaque formation which is a risk factor with calcium supplements The research has demonstrated , calcium supplements do contribute and do cause cardiovascular heart disease via plaque formation while calcium in dairy products does not (Unfortunately, dairy products do contribute to general inflammation). Of all the products available on the market this product has it. Vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 prevents plaque formation and even dissolves already formed plaque in arteries based on existing scientific data , thus preventing risk of heart disease. This product also has most other essential components for calcium utilization such as vitamin C, vitamin D3, Magnesium thus do not have to take them separately, therefore, making it almost all in one product. I wish it also had Zink and Copper then it would be fully complete. Zink and Copper are also needed for calcium utilization. It has a lot of other components such as strontium, boron, silica, vanadium (the research data is mixed on these products) so would rather not have these until conclusive research data is available. Raw organic fruit and vegetable blend I think is a waste. You cannot put fruits or vegetables in a pill. Also , when fruits and vegetables go through extensive processing and their components are broken down the benefits are minimal if at all and sometimes can be downright harmful. The fruits and vegetables ,when whole , have all needed components, that balance each other out and when you separate them they could start acting in your body like a bully as balancing components are lost. It is like breaking a family apart. I could have done without this blend as well. RAW probiotic or enzyme blend. I am not sure about these either. If it was my choice I would prefer to have simply pure calcium pill with all the required components for its utilization. This is rather expensive supplement. But it is so far the best on the market yet. I have a favorite company , I get my supplements from , that has all pure components no any extras , unfortunately their calcium supplement does not have Vitamin K2. Good alternative for managing the expense would be taking 1 pill twice a day and supplementing the rest with dairy products, especially with Kefir as it has the most benefits of all dairy products , including tons of probiotics. That is what I do. I use 1 pill with 1/2 cup of Kefir. This is my ideal mix. But I do not do it for expense, I do it, for health benefits. I try to minimize pills I take and prefer to get everything naturally as much as possible. Pills can never replace “whole” foods. The conclusion. Pros: This is a high quality calcium supplement. Has Vitamin K2 to counteract plaque formation from calcium supplement. Cons. It is expensive.

So far so good. I bought this after I researched it. It has a good combination of ingredients that the bones need. Have not noticed any side effects. Has a neutral flavor, no problem with the smell. It's more expensive than some of the other calcium I've taken over the years. Doesn't affect my sleep.

Calcium pills are great

This provides all of the key vitamins and minerals that everyone needs! Also, the selected vitamins and minerals work in concert to provide maximum benefit of supplementation. I feel well taking this as directed on the label, but even taking half of the recommended dose will nourish the body.

I have taken Garden of Life calcium for many years. I am an 86 year old woman and have been able to keep my bone density steady. In fact, it has gone up a bit over the past four years. I do think it is a little pricey but I am willing to pay the price to keep from having to take bone strengthening medicine. But it is a little cumbersome to take large pills.

I'd been taking another cheaper supplement for my osteopenia condition, but was convinced here that this is a more effective formulation. Four capsules for 1100 mg seems like a lot, got 1200 mg of calcium in my previous one in only two, but it is what it is, as long as it works. I've got another year until my next DEXA scan, which determines bone density, so will see then how good it really is, in conjunction with my other interventions, increased dairy products and consumption of fatty, high Omega 3 fish, (salmon and trout).
