8 Ball Chicks: A Year in the Violent World of Girl Gangs Paperback – January 20, 1998

I bought this book for college. It was fascinating and the author does a marvelous job of writing about her experiences.

This book is an incredible journey into the lives of gang girls, not just as ruthless fighters, but vulnerable young girls and childhood lost. I cried and felt my heart break reading this book.

When I first heard of the book I heard it on TV and said to myself that the title meant the name of a girl gang and the whole book would be about that gang. I was wrong and do wonder why it has this title if it has nothing to do with "8ball Chicks".Gini is very insightful on the research she made on these different race gang ladies and their gang life. I like the book but think she needed to include more on the gang culture of women out here and there.Good book anyways.

I highly recommend y'all to read this book it's very interesting and traumatizing how gang life is and what gang member have to go thru in a violence life

This is an excellent piece of work by Sikes! The book was a in great condition although the hardcover did not have a cover.

Takes a fascinating and real look at girl gangs. I read it back in college and just recently re-read it. Still informative and interesting.

i love this book so have other friends it is so recommended to programs and young girls going down the wrong road
