Workouts Made Fun! Almost
The BOSU balance trainer can be found in virtually any serious gym. It has a unique and very durable design that adds a new angle to your workout routine. It's good for cardio, strength, and flexibility training for your entire body. As far as the exercises go, there's an included training DVD that I've yet to fully go through. I tried the ab workouts a few times and I was too weak to keep up with the trainer. There's a ton of awesome things you can do with this thing. It's quite simple to set up: Take the included foot pump and stick the nozzle into the hole. Inflate the ball to around 10 inches in total height and no more than 12 inches as the instructions say. You then remove the nozzle and quickly insert the plug all the way. I assume the stopper is difficult to remove, but at least you can take comfort knowing it won't pop out and hit you in the eye. It takes up quite a bit of space so make sure you have somewhere to store it. Leaving the BOSU trainer around will entice any house guests to immediately set foot upon it while asking what it is. The BOSU trainer is a little pricey but the durability and versatility definitely make up for it. I seriously wouldn't recommend a knock-off for fear of it popping and injuring yourself. Note that there is a professional version that includes a more heavy duty gut (ball) and base design that does not have little rubber feet but rather a rubberized base that is light gray in color. This might be designed for the really buff/heavy guys as the home version holds up pretty well to any jumping I've done on it (I'm 137 lbs). It takes some time to build up your stabilization muscles to do more workouts, but keep at it. As always, it is a piece of workout equipment and it won't get the results for you. Awesome product overall.

This is so wonderful. It comes with DVD so don't buy the other one Amazon suggests unless you are really wanting to waste money
I got this thing because my personal trainer used it. She used both sides. In fact, she told me that BOSU means "both sides up." For me, as an older person, this is great to build on my balance. I am awful at it even though I work out regularly. I am still scared of my 61 y/o sense of balance. You can not just stand on this, do balance exercises on this, but turn up like it looks upside down and there are handgrips that allow you to use it as a weight! My trainer had me do this. Hold it and walk back and forth the length of the gym raising and lowering my arms. There are so many other suggestions in the DVD! LOVE this BOSU and am gaining back some of my sense of balance. I'd get more back if I was doing this every day. It shows you how to start out. Little bit at a time. BUY THIS. Worth every dime.

Will definitely improve your balance!
I was introduced to this at my gym with my trainer and decided I needed one for home use. This product is so versatile! I compared this "home" version with other versions available and can't see a difference between this one and the professional version. I thought maybe the prof. version was more heavy-duty, but if you compare the measurements and weight of the product, they are exactly the same. So I went with the less expensive "home" version and couldn't be happier. I weigh in the 240's and this product supports me just fine. Be sure to flip the thing over and use it with the rounded side down too. Put one foot in the center and bend the other leg for an excellent balance exercise. The little book that comes with it never mentions any exercises for the rounded side down and I don't know why not? BOSU means "Both Sides Up". Great product.

Good for the Core
Seems to be a top quality product. I first used a BOSU at the direction of my personal trainer and felt it gave an extremely beneficial workout for many muscle groups, particularly the mid-section, e.g. abs, obliques, and lower back. Do some sqauts on a BOSU holding a couple dumbells and you'll get a great 5 to 10 minute workout....

BOSU Home Balance Trainer
I really struggled with choosing the best BOSU for me. Is it better for me to get the Home version or should I get the Pro version? I read all the review: I selected the Home BOSU which is indeed perfect. It is well made and sturdy plus it is $50.00 cheaper than the Pro version. I am really glad I chose the Home version. The difference betweens the Home version and the Pro version is the Home version has little rubber stopper feet on the black part to prevent slipping. The rubber dome ball on the Home version is made with 2 lbs less rubber than the Pro version and the box on the home version only says BOSU it does not say Pro nor does it say Home. Also the black part of the Pro version is lined with rubber to prevent slipping and it does not have feet. The thickness of the home version is definitely adequate to prevent it from busting as long as you stay within the weight limits as described. (300 lbs) Some reviews complain that the home BOSU falls apart. If this is a concern for you be careful when you air up your new BOSU. The directions say to fill it to "about" 10" high. However, for me I am filling it to 9.5" which seemed very full. Use common sense. If you are on the heavy side or plan to jump on the BOSU and it seems pretty full at 9" high maybe you don't add the last 1/2 inch of air. Also when you fill the ball make sure that you are holding it level when you take the measurement. You can always add the last 1/2 inch of air if the ball seems too empty when you try it out for the first time. Some reviews complain that the BOSU has a bad odor. Well..... it is a brand new rubber ball. It does have an odor that smells just like a brand new rubber ball. I do wish Amazon would require sellers to give more specific details on which BOSU they are selling. I recommend avoiding venders who do not clearly specify their products.

THE BOSU BALL IS AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT FOR EVERYONE!
The Bosu Ball is an excellent piece of exercise equipment for anyone and everyone. One should be careful when beginning to use this product as you will tend to fall off of it. I suggest using it on carpet, rug, or exercise mat. Also, children, older adults, OR ANYONE who has severe balancing difficulties should have a partner to spot them, that is, let them hold your hand or your arm for stability. Never leave them alone when they are using the BOSU. The BOSU Ball is not a toy, and hence, should not be used as one. When I took an excercise class for fun, they had BOSU Balls available for us. I became determined to master this piece of equipment, and therefore, I practiced with it during every class. All you need to do is practice with it for 10 to 15 minutes a day (less if that suits you) and gradually, you become pretty good at mastering several of the excercises (and there are NUMEROUS ways to use the BOSU). My mother is 80, and she was thrilled when the BOSU arrived. I had taken video of myself while practicing using it in class. Mom and I use it daily (Mom needs my assistance), and WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. It seems pricey; however, it is well worth the money. True BOSU's are very durable and easy to inflate (Mom and I use the hand pump). This product should last for years if taken care of and used properly.

Great Exercise Tool But....
I got my Bosu Ball for Christmas and love the variety of exercises that can be done on it. I keep in my garage gym which can get very cold and very warm. Living in NC there are days that start off below freezing and rise to 70s degrees - and the temperature in my garage varies within those extremes. Yesterday was one of those days and when I came home last night the ball detached from the base. I am thinking the rapid change in temperature in my garage may have caused the problem. I now have to repair it. I noticed other people have had this problem too. What a pain! Going to try the repair instructions one reviewer recommended rather than return it as it has been over a month. This is obviously a design flaw and the company needs to address it. I think the BOSU ball is a fanstastic workout tool but heck - make it dependable!

has considerably helped my balance
I bought the home version about 2 months ago to improve my balance. I have had no problems with the Bosu itself. I use it about three or four days a week for approximately 15-20, maybe up to 25, minutes a shot. Feels longer and, trust me, it feels like a long time. The Bosu has considerably aided in improving my balance with the exercises I was given (not in the booklet, haven't looked on the DVD). This is obvious not only from my exercise progression but from my bike handling on descents. Not much else to say other than I plan on continuing using it and hope to have my range of exercises extended. ---------------------------- Know who Nerlens Noel is? He's the most commonly projected #1 pick in the upcoming 2013 NBA draft. He's currently rehabbing from a torn ACL. I came across a picture of him during his rehab and guess what he's using. Right, a Bosu. Standing one-legged, flat side up, in the center of a room. I do this too, only I place myself in a hallway.

Que dire à propos du BOSU ? C'est du matériel professionnel très intéressant pour de la proprioception ou pour complexifier des exercices.
