Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2 AM3+ AMD DDR3 1333 760G USB 2.0 Micro ATX Motherboard

I wasn't sure about this motherboard at first it's smaller than a regular micro atx board but don't let that keep you away this is an awesome board unlike this one most micro atx boards are square and when you plug the 24 pin power plug into one it kind of worries you that you might break it because of where the screw hole mounts are far away from the edge of the board but not on this one. The sata ports may look oddly placed but in a micro atx case it's actually a good thing you have more options on how you want to set up your cables and it makes them easier to get to. Another plus is this is the first board where i was able to get a phenom II x2 555 unlocked (all 4 cores) and staying stable i don't know what it is i have a better board than this that wouldn't stay stable with the cores unlocked but on this board i haven't had any problems i even overclocked it a little bit to 3.4 and ran prime 95 for an hour on a stock cooler it didn't go past 53 degrees celsius. If you are looking for a good cheap micro atx motherboard for gaming or whatever I'd highly recommend you get this board for $50 it is definitely worth the money UPDATE: The picture showed here might be a little different from what you get i got the rev. 1.1 the picture here is the first revision 1.0 only difference is the com and f_audio plugs Also Another plus for this board is it supports Amd FX processors

This MOBO works fine for my purposes. I actually use it on a gaming machine, but it's all I use it for so I don't need the scalability of a full ATX board. I also on't need SUB 3 or onboard video since it's only for a gaming machine. PROS: -Low price -Recognized all my hardware on the first build -Small (Cable management, micro ATX case, etc.) CONS: -No USB 3 -Only 2 RAM slots, only 1 PCI slot -Small (your hardware sits close and creates a little bit of a heat issue) If you know what you're getting, it's worth the money.

I ordered a few of these, primary and backups for my newest server running Windows Home Server Microsoft Windows Home Server 2011 OEM - 64-bit (10 CALs) [Old Version ] 2011 and for the next server I will build running Server Essentials 2012. I have paired these boards with cheap AM2+ 45 watt 245e processors that I got used on ebay as well as Corsair XMS3 Corsair XMS3 8 GB (2 x 4GB) 1333 MHz PC3-10666 240-Pin DDR3 Memory Kit CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 . Works great for what I need, simple NAS, automated daily backups of my desktop computers and file access via internet. I have played with one of my backups and installed Windows 8.1 just for giggles but alas it is Windows 8.1 and there was no joy, but it worked fine. It's a basic no frills board and all the drivers were present on the 8.1 install DVD. Keep in mind (D-sub) 15 pin VGA output is the only display connector on this board. You will need to HDMI or DVI you need to add a video card or upgrade to the GA-78LMT-USB3 Gigabyte AM3+ AMD DDR3 1333 760G HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Motherboard GA-78LMT-USB3 or similar board. I have build countless computers since the late 1980's and in the last 5 years I have only used Gigabyte boards. I have had many troubles with Asus (bad capacitors and bad SATA ports are the most frequent problems and common with ASUS) but Asus would be my second choice. I have never seen a Gigabyte board "Durable 2oz Copper" board (those with thicker motherboards and thicker copper layers) go bad (I have seen some DOA) but they seem to be phasing those out. This board is simply marketed as "Durable" without the 2oz Copper logo so I am guessing it does not have the thicker layers. If you intend to use this for a desktop I would urge the use of a separate PCI-e (x16) single slot video card with DDR5 memory. The onboard video is painfully slow and outdated but well suited for my server use where I don't even have a keyboard and monitor hooked up. Using a double height video card or one with a fan that sticks up beyond single height will block the PCI-E x4 slot. Also remember AHCI is disable by default in Bios and to enable it BEFORE installing Windows Vista, 7 or 8 for the maximum SATA performance available from this board.

I decided to wait a few months after building my gaming computer to review this just to see how it would work out over time. This is a great motherboard!! The only thing I must warn you about is, if you put in a video card that takes up 2 slots, hope that you don't have anything that will go into the miniPCI port right below the PCI-E because that won't be usable after putting a dedicated video card in. Best budget MOBO I found!! :) ~Almost A Year Update~ Well, next week, I will be switching to the GA-Z87X-D3H motherboard to go with the i7-4770k since I will be going for a Hackintosh. Here's what I've experienced with this motherboard the past year, as I've learned SO much. The SATA ports are SATA revision 2, only transferring at half the speed of SATA3. So if you're getting an SSD, this motherboard will be a ridiculous bottleneck! While there are many improvements over a mechanical drive, SSD's are still slow on this board. Even with TRIM enabled. And the next thing, the PCI-Express slot is PCI-E 2.0, not 3.0. If you're using a GPU in this slot, that slot is also bottlenecking. A PCI-e x16 2.0 is equivalent to a PCI-e 3.0 x8 slot. You're only getting what you're paying for. ;) But it served me VERY well! This motherboard has been working with both an 5400rpm and an SSD as boot drives, and on the GPU side in chronological order; an HD7870, an R9 280x (defected ~ died after 2 weeks), and currently, a GTX 760 4GB edition.

This is the 2nd MB of this model in 1 yr this one is only 40 days old and it has already failed. GB web site on returns doesn't work either so their 3 yr warranty is useless I will NEVER buy Gigabyte again. ASUS is the best MB

As a replacement for Gigabyte SKT-AM3 + 78LMT-S2P Rev 5.1 (practically almost the same motherboard), works perfectly with AMD FX6300, never had problems. After five months of using the product performs well. Great for It's price.

Am Freitag für meinen Bruder bestellt, am Samstag schon geliefert. Mit so einer schnellen Lieferung hätte ich nicht gerechnet. Aber jetzt zum Produkt. Laut meinem Bruder wurde nach dem Einbauen Alles problemlos erkannt. Motherboard, Windows 7, u.s.w....Insgesamt läuft auch der ganze PC schneller als vorher. Ich kenn mich in sowas ja gar nicht aus. Alles in Allem 5 Sterne für Lieferung und das Produkt selbst. TOP!

Acquistata per "recuperare" un AMD Phenom II X3 710 orfano di motherboard. Associata ad un singolo banco RAM 4Gb DDR3 1333MHz Kingston e ad un SSD Western Digital Caviar Green 240 Gb. Nessun problema da segnalare dopo alcune settimane di utilizzo. Giunta nei tempi nel packaging originale con i pochi accessori correttamente imbustati.
