Great protection, poor design to hold the case
Like other reviewers, I figured someone might have put this case together incorrectly, or that they just had bad luck.Upon first getting this product, everything looked great! The case looked like it would protect the phone from falling 20ft. The ports are easy to access and the large buttons make it easy to turn the screen on/off and control the volume. The only issue I found is that the home button is hard to distinguish if you clicked it or not. Like another review, the screen protector is a super flimsy piece of plastic that seems like you could push your fingers through it. I think they could have invested a few more pennies into the screen protector but oh well, not my biggest concern.I think they might have spent too much time with the actual phone case itself, and not the clip that holds the phone to the mount. I read some other reviews that said the phone fell off the mount. When I had the phone in hand and clipped on, I figured there was no way this could fall off. I tested it pretty hard and it seemed like it was tough to unclip. Took the bike out for a spin and once I got up to around 20+ MPH I hit a rough bump in the road and my phone went flying! I wish I had this on camera because I somehow captured it with my foot smashed against the side of the bike. I was able to slow down and pick the phone up without ever dropping it. With the amount of protection on the case, I'm sure it would have survived regardless. There are holes in the bottom so you can clearly hear your speakers while riding at 20+ MPH. I didn't turn my volume all the way up so I didn't annoy people I was passing, but even at about half way up you can clearly hear everything.I think I am going to take another reviewers suggestion and super glue the mounts together so the phone cannot fly off. Hopefully this works out for me and it doesn't fall off again!

Good value case and mount
I've been using this case and mount for about a month now. I use it to keep my phone accessible while cycling on mostly pavement (greenways and roads) on a touring bicycle. I have ridden some gravel roads and trails, but the majority has been on pavement. I'm using a navigation app to guide me through new routes with lots of turns and intersections, so having the phone where I can hear the audible cues and see the map while riding is important. My Galaxy SIII fits easily into this case. There is a tab-type catch at the bottom and two clamp-type catches on the sides to keep the case closed. It's pretty secure once it's all closed up.I can hear sounds from the phone fine, except when next to heavy traffic (but even rider to rider conversation is tough then). I have not yet tested how well the microphone works through the case. The button operations are all good.I have not yet tested the case on a rainy ride.I like the case's ability to rotate so I can change from portrait to landscape mode. This also comes in handy when you want easier access to the button that lets you quick-release the case from the mount. There are two ways to release the case from the mount. One is the quick release, in which the blocky mounting plate stays on the back of the case (sticks out about 1/4"). This is useful for a quick trip away from the bike. The other method is to slide the case off of the mounting plate, which leaves the case with a much slimmer profile for sliding in your pocket, luggage, etc. I remove my phone from the case and use another case on days I'm not riding. You have to remove the phone from the case in order to recharge it anyway.I'm withholding the fifth rating star for a few minor design issues.First, the clear screen cover has a considerable amount of glare when you're out under a bright sky or in direct sunlight. Since outside is mostly where you would be using such a case, this part of the design could be better. I am managing this issue by shading the case with my body when I need to operate the touch screen, or by stopping under a bridge or in a tunnel if that's not too inconvenient. There are times when I need to glance down and see the screen while riding. Fortunately my navigation app give me cues in oversized white text on a dark background and this is mostly still legible even in direct sunlight. Normal phone touchscreen functions are considerably more difficult to see.Second, the clamp that holds the mount to the handlebar tends to spin around the bar when I ride over rough or bumpy terrain (no suspension on my bike). I might be able to tighten it up a little more by hand, but I think it's possible to over-tighten the clamp and break it, so I want to be careful about that. It might be better to put something with more friction or stickiness on the bar underneath the clamp padding to keep it from moving. With everything else I have mounted around it, my case is limited in how far it can spin, so I've managed this issue by simply moving it back to where I want it when I need to. Being able to spin it to change the angle and avoid glare (see first issue) can be helpful.Overall, I'm happy with the value provided by this case and mount. I would recommend it to others. If I had to replace it, I would review other available options at the time for a better value, but I like this one well enough that I would buy it again versus going without or paying lots more.

Works ok......but be aware!
I was a little disappointed with this item at first as during the initial run after fitting it, the holder came off and opened up as it hit the ground causing my phone to shoot across the ground. I was fortunate that there were no cars at the time as it was at a junction that this happened. I picked up all the pieces and continued with my journey. When i got home that evening I decided to have a look at this. The instructions clearly state state that you should hear a click when you assemble this so I gave it a go and sure enough I got the click.I have now used this for the last two weeks with no issues. I have been up and down tracks, over bumpy ground and used it it wet conditions. So far so good but we will see how it works out over the next few months. I can hold my hand up here and say I was to blame however the mount could be better. Other users have glued this in place and this will not impact on the removalof the holder as there is a release button which seperates the holder from the mount. Glueing does not impact this function. The touch screen and buttons work as they should. My phone is now cracked but as I stated - partly my fault.
