What is the umf of the manuka mgo 550

Based on my personal training in Auckland laboratory and meeting with Prof. Henley MGO has no any relationships to UMF. UMF is an association ( Unique Manuka Factor) that charges its members for ability to carry UMF sign on their Manuka Honey labels. For century UMF used to use non-peroxide method of antibacterial activity determination ; honey with such labeling has been prohibited to export from New Zealand since July 31, 2014 and is going to be prosecuted since January 16th 2016 wordlwide. Antibacterial activity for Manuka Honey to show on label is banned. MGO - witnesses a natural occurring Methylglyoxal content in mg per kilo of honey and reads very similar to gold : MGO550+ means 1 kilo of such Manuka Honey contains at least 550 mg of Methylglyoxal. and so on. While some beekeepers used to keep Manuka Honey in hives for years ( aging Manuka) seldom portions of Manuka Honey may reach MGO800 but costs a fortune. Such honey does not go to commercial sale or packaging and available to local people only, mostly for topical applications such as severe skin burns, eczema, ulcers...

Is this Manuka Honey MGO 550+ raw honey?

This honey is "raw". It comes from the Manuka Tree(Leptospermum Scoparium). The MGO( methylglyoxal) is a natural compound found in significant qauntities in only Manuka honey produced in the wild from Manuka trees. The MGO has antinflamatory, antibacterial, and wound healing characteristics. Levels of MGO over 150 mg/kg are directly responsible for theses actions. This 550mg/kg is one of the hiest levels of MGO I have found.

How does the taste of makuna honey compare to traditional honey?

Thanks for asking. Its a good question. Depends what do you consider a traditional honey. There are more than 700 types of honey ( known) produced. The only Manuka monofloral honey becomes a unique thanks to the high Methylglyoxal content thanks( again) to the Manuka Bush( or a tree). The taste is also depends on age of the honey. Where were you all my life?

After doing the research, I decided to try this wonderful honey for its antibacterial and anti inflammatory benefits. I wish I had found this years ago. After three weeks of being faithful in its recommended dosage, I feel 100% better than I did. Every person is different, but for me, it is worth every penny. I eat a teaspoon at a time (one tablespoon recommended per day). I have taken it straight, on toast, on cereal and in a kefir drink to help calm some of the tartness. Highly recommend!

This honey has the best flavor & texture. I tried different other brands so far this is the best! I have suffered for 4 months with a very bad sinus infection & ear problems. I started on using this honey & in 1 week I started noticing I was feeling better with my sinus issues going away! This cost more but worth the price since I really am close to being completely well.

Great Manuka Honey for Eating and Skin Care

I’ve been really impressed with this Manuka honey. The taste is great—rich, smooth, and slightly earthy compared to regular honey. I’ve been enjoying it in tea and just eating a spoonful sometimes. I also tried using a small amount on my skin for eczema-related itching, and it actually helped soothe the irritation. I’m really happy with it and would definitely buy it again.

Insanely expensive, however...

I'm appalled by the price of this small jar, but have to admit that my year-long sore throat stopped hurting after i began taking a spoonful of this honey 2-3 times a week. Also, the sweet, earthy taste is delicious.
