🤖 Wave goodbye to remotes, wave hello to the future of home control!
The singlecue Gen 1 is a discontinued gesture control device designed to centralize media device management through touch-free hand motions. While it offers OTA updates and controls multiple devices with a single gesture, it currently faces limitations in low-light sensitivity, device compatibility, and gesture recognition accuracy. Ideal for early adopters eager to pioneer smart home innovation, it promises future enhancements to broaden smart home integration.

Good start. Needs lots of work.
This device was not close to what I was hoping for. It arrives and the packaging was beautiful. Was really excited for this product. After getting it installed, which was easy, find out it doesn't work unless it was pretty bright in my house. Had to turn on more lights than I normally do. Secondly, I'm in a wheelchair and wear fingerless gloves all the time. Doesn't work with my gloves on. Then it's suppose to have similar functionality for the surround system that I have. Couldn't get past a certain muni unless I used the controller. Defeated that purpose. As I'm rambling...sorry just want you to know the troubles that I encountered. As advertised it's suppose to work with the lights I have and the nest thermostat....which it currently doesn't. According to their website they will be doing that in an update in the distant future. Lastly the devise is extremely sensitive. I even turned down the sensitivity. It still was "crazy" to control. Again this would have been a cool product if it would have worked to my liking. Epic failure.

I am giving Singlecue 5 stars because I love the idea and I think we all understand as early adopters there are going to be missing features and some bugs that will need to be ironed out overtime. I have had it up and running for about 1 day but am still learning how the gestures work. The biggest problem I am having right now is controlling the set top cable box. While it "works" for basic functions like setting / changing favorites, increasing and lowering volume, I for the life of me cannot get it to mute audio when I give it the "hush" gesture. I have Time Warner Cable so the only way to configure the cable box was by using "Arris" which is the manufacture of the box. While the front of the box reads model "DCXxxxxx" it will not work when I select that option. I have to chose IPC Series Video Client and I get the basic functions as mentioned. I am not sure if this is why the "hush/mute" gesture is not working, its quite frustrating as this is one of the most used gestures I can see us using in our configuration. List of features I would like to see added in the near term would be as follow, some of these are shown in the product demo video so I was surprised they are not already available. Features ------------ 1. Nest Product Line Integration 2. Chromecast Support 3 SmartThings Integration this would be HUGE for me as we are 100% smartthings. 4. Low light improvements, I understand a recent software update address some low light problems but I think there is still room for improvement. 5. App disconnects when left open and then prompts you to "re-configure" when all I do is actually "close" the app (iOS) and relaunch it and it sees singlecue again. 6. While it sees my finger gesture my 7 year old who has smaller fingers cannot get the thing to read her gestures at all. This is a big source of frustration for her because she loves the idea and wants to be part of "showing it off" and using it. Support Related ----------------------- 1. Blog. Maybe one exists I could not find anything other than the support FAQ's 2. More Video's on how to use. Seems the 2 videos the app has are hidden on YouTube and you cannot access them once you have seen them during the setup. 3. Community Forum - Sometimes the best people to help people are the people using the device! (yes people) 4. Roadmap of features / enhancements, being in sales I know how important it is for customers to know what is coming and when. I'll try and update and I get more time with it but in summary, If you are an early adopter and can deal with the pains and missing features I would certainly recommend this unit it has the "cool" factor. I am not sure this is for everyone yet, I cannot see my parents or in-laws using this as it will drive them bonkers until it is much more polished. Hope this helps any future buyers.

Overpriced with limited functionality
The technology is like the xbox kinect but I was very surprise with the great accuracy. I was able to hook up my TV with no problems. However, with my cable box, I was having troubles to get my favorite channels and manual number input to work. Sent a email to the company and haven't gotten a response. The system is very buggy along with the app. A update was required after i entered my wifi password. The singlecue always looses connection to my wifi. It doesn't really matter, only for updates, as the app does all the settings and syncs to the unit. For navigation of the menu with your fingers felt very sensitive and sometimes over sensitive. I was able to control the TV volume and channel Up + Down with no problems. The fustration is trying to navigate the channel guide with your finger, it just doesn't work well. I then hooked up my apple TV. Everything here works as listed but turning on the apple tv requires you to hit the play button, instead of everything loading automatic. Big problem with the apple TV is you can't turn it off with the singlecue because the apple tv requires you to hold the button to turn it off. Overall the singlecue is great for the accuracy with one finger but it is just way over priced. This unit should cost no more than $99.99. I do agree with others that the Xbox One has a better value for you money and does almost the same stuff along with voice recognition. The last main concern is the privacy issue. the unit is always on. It doesn't go to sleep with inactivity.. I understand that it needs to always be on but should at least go to sleep if inactive for 48hours or so. I hope future updates will fix some of these issues and more support is needed for this product. I have yet to receive a response regarding my problems so this already tells me this company is not the best with updates and support. For now i cannot recommend this product..
