LG Electronics Tone Ultra HBS-810 Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Headset - Retail Packaging - Black

The LG Tone Ultra 810 is a great set of headphones. I prefer these to the more expensive infinims because they have the flexible neck like earlier models, but still have the retractable cords and sound quality of their more expensive version. The battery life is amazing. I have been using them on the factory charge for about 2 weeks (2-3 hours a day, 3 days a week) and the battery is still on medium! For those who have reviewed them as having poor sound quality, I would say that it's all about finding the right size ear bud for them. The ones that were shipped on the set were WAY to big and didn't get a good seal. Therefore the bass was very weak and the volume was low. The 2 pairs of gels included (medium and large but no small) are very thick and rigid because of an extra layer of foam inside, most likely to improve noise cancellation, but can easily be replaced with any other gels you have lying around. I put some from some old samsung buds in there that I knew were a good fit for me, and the sound quality coming from them now is great! Very clear sound, good volume and decent bass. Like some others have commented, the range on them is not as great as I would like it to be, cutting out at around 20-25 ft. But since my phone is almost always in my pocket or purse, this wasn't really an issue for me. Overall, I would definitely recommend these over the infinims and previous models as they have the best of both worlds.

So I owned the 730s for a few years. I really liked them and used them on a near daily basis for work. Well I finally killed them, ripped the right ear bud off. Anyway, I researched these against the 950's and 1100's. I was willing to spare no expense. I read a review were the ultras were preferred over the other two because the mic was better. I can't speak for the upper level ones, but the mic on the ultras does work well. (That seemed to be a common complaint about the 9 and 1100 series.) The main complaint I read about the ultras was a decrease in audio performance from the 730's. I would disagree with this assessment (even though I agreed at first.) The ultras have less base out of the box and so the sound seems less full. However, the sound is more precise and not as muddled. Using the power amp app I added a bit of base and quickly had no complaints. Streaming I just downloaded and equalizer app and use it to add in a touch of base. Once I did this I was pleased with the overall performance. Instead of being treble and base the ultras tend to have a more complete sound than the 730's. I actually prefer it. I don't know how the pull out earbuds will hold up. Honestly the little tabs on the 730's didn't work much after the first six months anyway. If they break, I hope they just stop retracting so they can still be used. We will see. So far I like them well and I have no complaints with the call quality.

I bought this headset to replace my lost Bluetooth mono earpiece as I needed something larger and bulkier that would be harder to put in a pocket and end up in the wash. It turns out this is s pretty nice choice and more!To my ear the sound was tinny when I first used them. Once I figured out how to apply the built-in equalizer settings, the sound improved, though not quite to the level I had hoped. Not enough bass response to make my music roar with its usual intensity which is my reason for less than 5 stars.The remaining features still make this a great choice and a recommended product:The slim profile means that I can wear this to work actually concealed under my shirt collar. (I actually flip my collar up, out it on over my shirt and roll the collar down over it almost completely concealing the headset.)The retractable earpieces make it simple to extract them from under my collar for one ear listening and hands-free phonecalls while driving, and both ears for my daily walks and casual listening. Then, when no longer needed, a light tug and release, all disappears out of view. Unlike other models that just have the magnetic holders but leave a loop of wire dangling, these retract and disappear completely.If you make the effort to learn the controls, all can be done either through the fabric of my collar or by slipping a finger to or thumb underneath to make an adjustment.Lastly, the battery life is phenomenal! I charge this up and leave it on for days! Taking a dozen or so calls and listening privately to music and video. I charge this maybe twice a week, once midweek and once on the weekend. With heavier use you may need to charge it every couple of days but this headset really suits me and I recommend it for good general Bluetooth use.If you're an audiophile this will not come close, but then, you're also not listening to your music from mp3's or streaming from your phone either. Wired headsets still produce the best sound, in my opinion, but if you can compromise a little on audio quality, the remaining features make this an excellent choice!
