ChiaoGoo SS Red Lace Circular, 40-Inch (100 cm), US 1.5 (2.5 mm)

I've only been knitting for about a year. I've used Clover, Susan Bates, & Boye circular needles for a few of my projects. I find it annoying when the cord wants to curl & I have to keep smoothing it out. So, when I decided to try knitting my first sweater, I was a bit intimidated thinking of dealing w/ a long cord that would keep curling up. I was looking for Size 13 40" long circular needles on Amazon & this caught my attention. I guess it was the red cord that caught my eye. Then I read the description stating that ChiaoGoo Red Lace circulars are lightweight, durable, made of high grade stainless steel , precisely machined with satin finish, & the size is permanently laser etched on each item for added convenience and easy storage. But, most importantly, they come with a bright red, highly flexible, multi-strand, nylon-coated, steel cable allowing your yarn to easily slide end-to-end. Well, I was hoping for a cable that was a bit better than those other brands. Honestly, these circular needles blow the others right out of the water. Do they cost a bit more? Yes. Are they worth it? Absolutely! Every word in the seller's description is absolutely true. They come packaged the same way all circular needles come packaged. The cord is looped twice w/ the needles on either side. But, when I removed the needles from the package, I was able to smooth the cord STRAIGHT!!! I mean, not even a mild wave in the cord. But the cord is smooth & flexible. It will bend when you want it to. The cable is connected to the needles beautifully. I don't expect them to snag at all. If you are fairly new to knitting & frustrated when using circular needles, you have got to give these a try. No more fighting w/ twisted cords. I've looked at those really expensive sets w/ interchangeable needles. But, I simply can't afford them & don't know that I will use all of them. But, I do believe in investing in needles that are reasonably priced, far superior to those name brand needles, & makes knitting easier. You have got to give these a try.

Absolutely amazing quality compared to competitors. The lack of frustration in my project is totally worth this price point. These are so smooth, great for magic loop, lay flat and decrease any laddering. I’m in love!

These are the best circular needles for me. As a continental knitter I prefer very smooth needles that allow stitches to glide easily. Now I can knit much longer without my hands getting tired. The metal tips are 5-inch long, including the one inch temper towards the cable. I would prefer an extra inch there. The needles themselves are very smooth and a a transition between the cable and the metal tip is seamless. The tips are uniformly tapered and may be just a tad to long so it requires a larger movement to move a new stitch to a the straight part of the working needles . The tips are a little too pointy so I have too unlearn the habit if pushing the tip of the needle with my finger but that's lace needles for you. I am wondering how often people knit lace on size 13 needles. But the best part of the needles is the cable. Yes, it is covered in semi-transparent red plastic so you can see the steel cable inside. The cable itself is thicker than in most other needles I won. It is soft, flexible and has no tendency to coil. Overall they feel sturdy and well-made.

Chaogoo knitting needles are the best for certain yarns , love the point at the tip of needle which helps me with speed

If you're wondering if these circular needles are worth the extra cost - the answer is yes for 2 reasons. First - the cable lies flat. It doesn't twist around as you're working with them. Other needles are "squirrely". These are so much easier. Secondly - the join where the cable meets the needle is smooth. The yarn doesn't catch there, as it does with every other needle I have used. Also, since these are made of surgical steel, I expect they will last a lot longer than aluminum needles that get worn at the tip. I plan on buying other sizes.

These are the best circular needles. I don’t enjoy knitting with large needles but the flexibility of the ChiaoGoo cables makes it so much better.

I already own a small set of chiagoo red lace interchangeable needles but needed a US 10.5. I am so glad I stayed with this brand. I have others but these are my go to. The yarn glides smoothly on the needles, they are light weight so they don't stress your hands.they are a great quality and the size is clearly etched on the needles. The cable doesn't kink. Value is definitely worth it.

War sehr skeptisch ob diese Nadeln wirklich so gut sind. Ich bin begeistert. Es bleibt am Übergang vom Seil zur Nadel nichts hängen, es wird meine 4fädige Wolle beim Stricken nicht gespragelt. Ich hatte bis jetzt die verschiedenen Modelle von kp und war eigentlich zufrieden. Aber es ist ein haushoher Unterschied. Der manchmal etwas höhere Preis ist gerechtfertigt. Obwohl Made in China.
