Unique Pet Odor & Stain Eliminator Enzyme Cleaner Concentrate, 32 oz

Our new house had a very large area of stains where the previous owner's dogs apparently went to the bathroom daily. I tried everything but nothing helped. My husband brought a small bottle of Unique home when he couldn't find the product I asked him to buy. I couldn't believe all the crud it brought up out of the carpet and onto the towels. It took the stains out right away without discoloring the carpet. The odor lingered, so I bought more Unique and did a few more treatments. The smell has gone from intolerable to very mild. I called the company and asked for advice and they were fantastic. A live person actually answered the phone! If you have a problem spot, even if it's very old, this product should help. Some people have mentioned that the price is high, but it's a lot less expensive than replacing the carpet. I highly recommend this product. Be sure to follow the directions exactly, especially putting the wet towels over the stain. I read about somebody who didn't put the towels down and their carpet turned brown. There's an online video you can watch for detailed instructions.

This product is THE ONE. Our cat goes through phases where she pees on basically everything, and we’d tried everything to both get her to stop going in the same place and to get rid of the seemingly ever-lasting smell. A few years ago, a friend suggested this one, and while I didn’t get my hopes up, it worked when several other products had not. It’s the only reason we were able to keep our couch, bath mats, and a large portion of my clothes. Yes, it has its own smell at first, which quickly fades, with a few hours or even an extra rinse in the washer. I’ve found it works best on fabrics that will be going through a washer. I both spray it on the fabrics directly (after diluting it, of course) and sometimes add some to the wash cycle when it’s bigger items (sheets, etc). I forget which clothes got peed on. The smell is completely gone, and I even feel like it’s helped get rid of MY smell and pit stains in older clothes. The carpet treatment works better than others, but is not perfect. I have a strong sense of smell, and I do feel like that ammonia smell is still noticeable up close. But I do and have recommended this brand to everyone going through a similar situation. I purchase it about once a year because I never know when I’ll need it. It has truly saved me thousands of dollars over the last 6 years, which I would have spent if I’d have to throw everything out.

I used this as a last ditch effort to save the carpet that my elderly dog has repeatedly peed on. I had previously spot cleaned and shampooed it with other enzyme cleaners, so I had to rinse the carpet first. This was seriously tedious, but necessary. I mixed up a gallon of the Unique stain eliminator, applied it with a sprayer, agitated, and put down white towels. OMG the nastyness that this stuff pulled out of my carpet was crazy. The white towels looked absolutely disgusting after sitting on the carpet and the smell was worse than before. I repeated the process (minus the rinsing) until the towels were no longer gross, letting the carpet dry for a couple of days in between each application. It was a long and tedious process, but the carpet was saved. Absolutely unbelievable.

My cats had started peeing on my carpets and nothing was able to remove the smell. Some even left a worse smell of its own. Unique Pet Odor and Stain remover is the only one that worked. It got the urine smell out and left a clean fresh scent. It has been over six months since I did the treatment as described on the bottle and the smell has not returned. The process takes patience: wet the area with diluted Unique product. Cover with hot damp towels and let it sit. I did this for days. Then I had to let everything dry or risk getting mold growing under the damp carpet. It took a couple of rounds of this. I called the company customer service to make sure I was doing this right. They were very helpful and took the time to help me understand how to make this a success. the result: the smell is gone! It was well worth the work. I have also used it on my son's backpacks or that the cats had gotten to. Per the directions, I put the liquid on the smelly area and then soaked the backpack in hot water for hours (I usually left it overnight). The next morning, I just gave the backpack a quick washing with laundry soap and let it air dry. No More Smell!!

UPDATE ON JULY 29, 2024: Some reviews mention that this product is a pain to use. But having a dog can be a pain! Mixing the product in water with a spray bottle is easy. You can get spray bottles on Amazon. Wiping up the stain, then spraying and agitating, then leaving a damp cloth over the stain overnight is not that hard and it's the only thing I've found that doesn't ruin carpets and gets the stain out. It works with natural enzymes. Other reviews mentioned it doesn't get odors out. Maybe not for cats but definitely for dogs. EARLIER REVIEW: I have an Italian Greyhound. They are notorious for being difficult to house train. I've tried every cleaning product on the market. Unique is the only one that works and it is the easiest to use. It's concentrated so you'll need to get a spray bottle from the hardware store or Amazon. It lasts a long time. Worth every penny. I don't use anything else.

I liked the idea of bacteria (natural) cleaning or destroying cat's pee which is about one of the hardest things to get out of my carpet. First, I need to say that I have a cat that has some really bad annoying habits of not using the litter boxes and finding places like my bedroom carpet to pee. This is partly a bad habit of hers, I assume something she did all her life (I adopted her when she was older) so the habit was there. No matter how much you clean, she still goes and pees. I was anxious to try this hoping the smell would go away, using almost the entire bottle to clean out the smell and prevent her from continuing this bad habit. No luck, the carpet still smells like pee no matter how much I steam clean the carpet out. I am now going to try Anti-Icky poo. Sighhhhh!

It's eliminated the smell and stain of cat pee and vomit from a couch cushion, duvet cover and rug. I try to buy things as much as possible from local stores, but in this case - since I rarely see Unique in a store - I always just buy it online. It seems to magically erase the barf stains from my aging kitty and her increasingly sensitive stomach...including erasing them from a cream rug I had in my bedroom. It also truly eliminates pee smell from stuff like couch cushions - she was having some kind of issue and peeing on the couch....I soaked the cushions in it, washed the cushion covers - after putting Unique on the spot and soaking them, too, in hot water. Even my husband (who has a dog-like sense of smell) can't smell the pee anymore. I see Nature's Miracle often in stores and just don't trust it like I trust Unique. We've also had good experience with Icky Poo - but to me, Unique is the best one of them all. Now - if only Unique was also a truth serum that would allow us to understand WHY the cat is peeing on the couch!!! (BTW, if you have this problem, I 100% recommend the Sure Fit Waterproof Pet cover - she still pees on it sometimes, but I use Unique to pre-treat it before washing and the actual couch stays 100% protected)

Very easy to use the instructions are 8 parts warm to hot water and 1 part product, did as instructed and wow no stain left!

I was sceptical about this product after reading so many reviews saying it took the odour out completely. But wow. I used it last night, there was a large area my cat had used and I didn’t know until I smelt it. I mixed 1 cup with 8 cups of very warm water, saturated the carpet and covered it down with a towel. This morning. It is still a little damp but you wouldn’t know there was anything there. Amazing!

It seems to work well. My puppy had an accident on a carpet, I followed the instructions and he doesn't even give that area on the rug a second glance. This has enzymes or something like that in it which are activated when mixed with warm water. Once mixed it's good for about a week so make sure to only make what you need. You can use it in a spray bottle, but keep in mind the seven day shelf life so only mix a bit at a time.

Bought this to clean a piece of carpet in a rental property and sad to say it didn't work. Despite using the product on the area 3 times we ended up having to replace the carpet.
