South Park: Season 18

South Park is one of my most favorite shows! It was one that pushed everyone’s buttons and touched on several issues throughout the years and fast became in pace with the Simpsons. Trey Parker and Matt Stone created such an incredible series that I own every season that’s out so far. This adult themed animation series is worth every penny to snag complete seasons from Amazon even if you buy for streaming purposes. My reviews for every season I have purchased from Amazon will be the same. I’m including images from each seasons disc as the differences

-Update- So there was a couple episodes on the second disc that makes me want to retract my prior review. I re-watched the entire season after amd wasnt as annoyed by the background drama music. I repost with 5 stars. --- --- --- Apparently Matt and Trey decided to try something new. And I personally consider it an epic fail. The script and story line and everything we have come to expect from South Park...however every episode (at least on the forelst disc) has an annoying background music to add "drama/suspense/whatever" in virtuallu every scene. I found it so annoying that i havemt even bothered to attempt watching the second disc. (Which reminds me...i dont care for the double disc...i miss the 3 disc boxes. Comedy Central only gave them 10 episodes for season 18.) None the less I am big fan ( not Cartman big but metephorically big) of South Park. I just hope that season 19 does not have the annoying background music that distracts from the script and dialog. (The music doesnt distort the voices, it just becomes ...well it becomes like that annoying radio playing at just the right volume in the next room in the room to distract you while youre trying to enjoy your favorite show... ... ...or an even better example would be those black lines on top amd bottom or left and right of tv screen...only for your ears). I dunno. You'll hear what i mean.

Simpson's and other show's have nothing on South Park! They hit every current situation spot on, with the best comedy ever! The character's rule! You must complete the whole series! You will be rolling with tears laughing, if you have humor and understand current events!

Enjoyed season 18 and cannot wait for season 19, which I enjoyed very much. It was an improvement from a lull from which I ascribe to being safe. South Patk is best when they are fearless. Hopefully with 2016 election, South Park will be unrelenting towards Hillary and Trump, and mocking our electoral system like they used to do. In S18e2 Where's My Country Gone is case in point. I really enjoyed Mr. Garrison's portrayal of Trump. Hillary and Trump are excellent nuts to roast, so I expect a full gammut of jokes with their new season continuity format.

If you are a fan that has all the previous box sets, nothing will stop you from collecting them further. I'm glad they have not drastically changed the design of these boxes, they look great being stacked and it would've sucked if the shape or width changed. There are less episodes this season, and I'm surprised the creators are keeping it going after all these years. The formula for their episodes have changed, but they will always be great. Forever a fan of South Park!

The drop to 10 episodes is still hurting the overall amount of laughs. It's still worth watching...but the individual episodes are going to have to improve a bit to get a 5 star rating back.

I recently received my season 18 DVD to much anticipation. I have purchased all 18 seasons now and consider the box sets some of my most prized possessions. Season 18 took us in a new direction with a more linear storyline, which was awesome. Randy as Lorde was priceless. I can't wait for season 19. I will now be smoking a pipe and writing Amazon reviews because I know how much everyone needs me. I'm so damn tired.

Eighteenth season of cult adult animation show South Park. The season runs for ten twenty two minute long episodes. Which are spread across two discs. Packaged in a cardboard box with plastic dvd holders, with a cardboard box cover. Which is a little fiddly till you figure out that it's best to pull it out from the right hand side. Language and subtitle options are: Languages: English, German Subtitles: English, Dutch, German. This is a slightly different season to usual because the episodes aren't quite so self contained. They all do stand pretty much alone, apart from the concluding two parter. But it does carry some things over from episode to later ones. Episodes are as follows: 'Go Fund Yourself.' The boys try to become rich via a kickstarting project. But their choice of name leads to conflict with a venerable american sports team. 'Gluten Free Ebola.' The townsfolk are scared into following Mr Mackie into a gluten free diet. And the boys try to win back people's favour. 'The Cissy.' Cartman declares himself transgender in a bid to get a private bathroom. All good solid episodes. Even though they fall into the familiar routine of taking a topical idea and escalating it [the first episode might not mean much to those who don't follow stories about American sports] they all have fun plots which develop nicely, and some good laughs on the way. 'Handicar'. Timmy's new cab business makes enemies. Including Nathan and his sidekick Mimsy. Which leads to the future of transport being decided by bringing back a certain type of race.. A great episode, although Nathan and Mimmsy might acquired tastes. But the homage to a certain classic cartoon is so brilliant. 'The Magic Bush.' Cartman and Butters messing with a drone leads to problems. Another really funny one, although the ending is slightly rushed. 'Freemium isn't free.' Concerns paying for extras in mobile games as Stan gets hooked on the Terrance and Phillip one. 'Grounded Vindaloop.' The boys mess around with a virtual reality headset and get very confused. Two fabulous episodes, both hilarious and with some great surprises in them. Do keep watching Grounded Vindaloop during the end credits. 'C**k magic.' Kenny's skills at magic the gathering leads the boys into a dark underworld. And Randy gets addicted once again to a very unusual hobby. Another superb episode. Best described as brilliantly twisted. Then there's the two part season finale ''#Rehash' and '#happy holograms' which sees Kyle's attempts to get Ike and his friends off their computers and back doing things with their families escalate, as the entertainment industry puts a terrible scheme into motion.' This possibly could have stretched to three episodes, as the ending may seem a little rushed to some. But it's brilliantly written, in how it pulls so much together and also makes some good commentary about changing tastes. This is a really great season. Of a show that still has a lot of life left in it. The only extras are the usual: Mini commentaries from the show's creators. These as ever run for no more than three to five minutes, but are fun and interesting. And disc one has five minutes worth of deleted scenes from throughout the season. These can only be watched all in a row. But all are great and well worth a look.
