Stompy Monsters Game
If you like Toho's Godzilla (especially the Showa era of movies) you'll love this game, if only for the sheer geeky fan service. Lot's of references to the kaiju Megalon, Mothra, King Ghidorah, and of course the king himself, Godzilla. Along with all the usual Earth defences and even the Xillians from GZ vs The Astro Monster. If you like board games where the board can be different from one game to the next, where you have to use tactics as well as brute force against not only your opponents, but the game itself that's desperately trying to chase you all away, then there's no need to have much of any fandom knowledge of the monsters themselves. The instructions may seem daunting at first, the rules being comprehensively explained, with illustrations to describe examples, so as to help avoid any midgame confusion. The rules themselves are actually fairly straightforward, and much of the unique in game mechanics are explained on the cards as they are played. The board pieces are a little monochrome, making some parts such as where to place trains (if using that in game side quest) a little fiddly, and keeping track of the Small Buildings on the board can be lost like camouflage. That aside, I found the miniatures (larger and special buildings, and the players' kaiju pieces) good quality and great fun to move around the modular hex-board city. Once everyone had got accustomed with the turn order and mechanics, we were gladly trashing tanks, eating trains, and burrowing or tail sailing into one another. Requires a good sized table space to play, even for two players, as the play area you build PLUS all the other components needed will take up a lot of space. I would encourage set up being a group effort, getting everyone involved before duking it out.

Epic strategy game
Quality board game. You’ve got to be the best monster in town. Might take a few plays to fully grasp the rules but soon plays well. Potentially better with 3-4 players but 2 is also good.

Kaiju smacking aplenty
The figures are very detailed and the game well designed. Only issue is I am missing one token but have an extra of another one. Does not take away from the game and its a must for Godzilla fans.

Great little board game!
A really fun, relatively simple "beat the tar out of your opponent" kinda game. You play as one of four Kaiju and try to gain the most points by landing blows against your opponents whilst throwing cars, smashing buildings and the like. My only complaint is there was never any expansions! This game easily could've had more Kaiju added to it.

Possibly a good game
If you struggle with lots of instructions you'll probably be frustrated by the 15 pages of instructions. Potentially a great game though once you've mastered it and played it a few times. There are some YouTube videos which are helpful. It was a bit difficult to remember all the actions to take so we made up our version which was fun 😂

We like to play two player, but it's a fun game with lots of replayability. The rules are simple but fun. The art is perfect. I grew up playing tattered table top games and the distressed style of the materials is a plus.
