Where has this been all my life?💝
I bought 2 of these. One for me, and one for my kayak buddy - my husband. I had some worries that it would be just some beach float pretending to be a kayak. This is not a float. This is a kayak! Easy to follow - instructions just do the set-up and take down one step at a time. The blow up process is fast. I didn't time it, but the pump blows air in on the push down and pull up. We inflated them, then took a 10 minute break to let the let the air bladders relax so we could fully inflate the kayak. So, blow up, break, finish blowing up is the secret there. Follow the directions to convert the backpack into a seat. Easy! A lot of reviews say the paddles are crap, and that's because they are! 😜 It's a byop (buy your own paddle) situation. There are really nice paddle cleats on one side of the kayak. Inflated it feels light as a beach float, so you just carry it to the water. Deflated, it feels WAY lighted then my hard shell kayaks, but oddly heavier then when it was inflated. SO, the launch! Carried it to the water, plopped it in the water, wasn't sure exactly how to get on an inflatable kayak. I just sat on it as close to the seat as I could get, brought my legs up and go comfortable in the seat. My husband is taller and heavier than I am, but he also had no problem getting in the floating inflatable. The ride is nice, but you do have to use really smooth strokes because it wants to tac left and right a bit. It just takes a few minutes to adjust your paddle method to correct this. It's really stable! I tried to get it to pitch me in the water. It didn't. I wiggled, wobbled, suddenly changed body positions - it didn't even come close to tipping. My husband tried too, but same results for both of us. The dismount was super easy! Just get in shallow water, and swing your legs off one side. Stand-up, put your paddle in the cleats, pick-up the kayak, and walk out of the water. So easy!! The backpack seat is really comfortable. The whole kayak is really comfortable. The deflation process is so easy! They plump has an inflate side, and a deflate side. It goes super flat super fast! Folding it was easy. I did have a problem getting the cargo nets off, so I just left them on. Because I did that, I had to use a couple of bungee cords to make it stay in the backpack. No big deal at all. A little about us. I'm 55, and a 30 year kayaker. I have done white water and still water kayaking. I have a bad left leg. I've had 16 surgeries, 2 ankle replacements, from a catastrophic injury. This is the best kayak I've ever ridden. My husband is 71, and a kayaker for 10 years. He has a lower spine fusion (football stuff, y'all). He loves his inflatable kayak. I'm his hard shell kayak, his butt would go numb, he'd wiggle around and end up swimming. I build out riggers on it, but the numb butt thing made kayaking not so fun even without being tossed into the drink! His butt doesn't go numb with this kayak. I believe it's because he has better circulation because your blood can circulate better on a soft seat. He also had no problem getting comfortable in the seat. The back seems to have better structure then those little backed seats on our hard shells. This kayak is great. I'd never take it in white water, but I can take it out all day on calm water.

High Quality, Easy to Use, Super Sturdy! (get another paddle though)
I just received this two days ago, and got on the lake today! I put 9 miles on it, and can honestly say it's a great purchase. (Pictures Included) To start out, because it's helpful: I'm a 5'10, 200lb woman with a 36" inseam...so yes, I have long legs. This was a perfect fit for me. My 6'5 brother sat on it while I had it on the lawn, and it was a great fit for him as well. It also didn't sink even the slightest, and the only time I got wet was when I awkwardly got off the kayak while the wind kinda moved it. Ok, on to the Kayak: There are four (five) individual compartments, so it will stay inflated if something does happen, but the material is strong, and our dock master passed it off without hesitation. All the other reviews are right... the paddle is a little flimsy and comes apart way too easily. Luckily I happened to already have a yellow/black one, that matched this perfectly. (as you can see in the pictures) It's super easy to inflate, and only takes about 5-7 minutes once you know what you're doing. (I learned how to unpack and pack it on my front lawn, and made sure it was all working before I took it to the lake) The pump is easy to use, and has a "deflate" setting as well to suck all the air out, making it super easy to pack back up in the backpack/seat. Speaking of that backpack/seat - it is COMFY! Like I said, I did just over 9 miles on it just now, and it was way more comfortable than any hard shell kayaks I've used. Ingenious design, and there are absolutely no issues getting the deflated kayak back into a folded form to secure in the back/pack seat. Takes even less time to deflate, fold, and store - then on you go! The color is exactly as you see. It's a bright teal, and bright yellow. It's quite pretty actually. It came shipped in its own box, inside another shipping box. Undamaged, and well packaged. Arrived very quickly! Instructions were easy to follow. It does say to inflate to a specific PSI... but if you're like me and can't actually check that easily, just make sure it's firm, but not seam popping hard. Like an air mattress, basically. Actual Rowing on the lake: At first, I quickly realized it is not a hard shell and doesn't row like a hard shell. It responds to paddling very quick. So the front end tends to move side to side. Typically that means you're paddling too hard, but it's going to happen no matter what with this if you want to move in a forward direction. The second I stopped paddling, it would start spinning itself, so I had to slowly stop paddling, and make sure it was straight and I wasn't moving when I stopped. It was leaning a little to the right, which I'm sure was just how I was sitting on it - I'll have to play around with that some more on my next runs. Very little water got inside the kayak, just splashing drips from the paddles. I never had any water splash up and over. Not sure what else to say about this, except it's absolutely awesome and a major bargain for the quality. 100% worth the purchase! Update: I've been out on this a few times now, and it's still perfect. No leaks, no problems. And that slightly leaning to the right was definitely me. Haven't had the issue again. I love it!

Kayak has some good qualities but it's very sloooooowww
I've owned this kayak for 2 summers now and have taken it out about 20 times. Overall, there are some good things about this kayak and a few not so good things. The good: as many have commented, this kayak is easy to transport and inflates quickly. I've had no issues with leaks, so durability seems good. In the water, it seems solid and not tippy at all. The not so good: the paddles are okay, but the fins are on the small side. The pump does not come with a built-in gauge, so you have to guess when it's inflated to the right PSI ("seems firm enough" is the best technique). The skeg is too small to help, but I used waterproof epoxy and small screws to attach a larger skeg which definitely helps with maneuverability. The biggest drawback ... this kayak is slow. Very slow. If you stop paddling, the boat practically stops immediately. The problem is the design of the bottom. Rather than a flat smooth surface, the bottom has what can best be described as lumps which prevent the kayak from gliding across the water. It's as if this boat was designed to go slow. So if you're out with someone else in a hard-shell kayak, or even a paddleboarder going at a good clip, you'll have a miserable time trying to keep up.

This ride-on Sevylor/Coleman sit-on kayak is, with me, a tried and proven excellent design. I now have three generations of this kayak and through careful use have avoided any punctures. The oldest yellow version of this kayak is the fastest; and with each subsequent revision of the design they have made it slower and slower, to pump up and set up, as large air valves have been replaced with more and more smaller valves which make the big pump slower and harder to use. I don't see that the seat needed redesign either, but it does add a little height. Use with care and it will serve you well. On a windy day it functions much like a sailboat sans the ability to tack against the direction of the wind.

Easy to unpack and inflate, and surprisingly also easy to pack back into backpack mode. It's great out on the lake, I took it out to do some fishing and had no issues. The cup holder is nice, the net at the front let me strap down my fishing tackle, and the boat felt solid and stable once inflated. Just know that you're not going to be moving very fast in it. It's really hard to keep it moving in a straight line with its tiny little fins, and it takes a lot of energy to move against the current or wind. But for slowly putting around the lake and fishing it's awesome and stable.

Brilliant in the sea, great value for money, easy to inflate/deflate and stores nicely in the car.
