I bought a set of these for my father in law, who has steep and treacherous steps outside his house, and for myself; it can be hard to locate the front door lock at night sometimes. They are bright, detect motion perfectly, recharge happily, and switch off after just the right amount of time; good for visibility and also for deterring casual intruders, I would say. There are four settings; off, on, on at low level from dusk until dawn, and motion detect. My father in law mistakenly set them to low level and they did not last long enough to see him safely in from the pub late at night, but to be honest if you want permanent lighting you do need to be looking at a wired installation. On the correct settings they have not let him or us down once, faithfully lighting up throughout the night as needed. Good product at a good price.

After reading the reviews I thought I’d buy these lights - cheap enough that is they weren’t any good I wouldn’t lose too much. BUT they are brilliant. So bright and powerful. I’m so impressed. They’ve charged up on cloudy grey days. They may be small but they shine very brightly. The sensor works well. I’m going to order more. Don’t hesitate. If you want good outdoor lights buy these. You won’t be disappointed

Solar lights are now becoming a bit of an obsession for me now and this is the 4th pack of lights I have bought as they are great for the garden. I have bought different types for my mum and father in law as they provide some security or illumination but with no wiring, battery changes etc. These lights have only one screw to fix them in position and are narrow enough to fix on a fence post. I have a couple on fence posts in the rear garden, one on the porch and one on the side of the shed. I also have an older set dotted around in different points around the garden so use these as comparison. The lights work via motion and that is the setting I use so they are off until they detect movement. I believe this would make them the most efficient but there are two other settings to give you some illumination once it gets dark with the option of motion detection as well but I prefer them more for security so motion alone is good enough for me. The colour of these is more towards a cold white / blue light whereas my others are a bit warmer. Not a problem except that obviously where they are next to each other, there is a noticeable difference but not for me to be bothered. The main difference I notice when comparing the 2 is that my older lights seem brighter despite them having less LED’s. This is not a criticism of the new lights as such as the brightness is adequate but if like me you have seen a lot of solar lights advertised you will see they all advertise how many led’s they have. I am now dubious as to how much attention I will really pay to that as ultimately these can’t compete with a big mains powered security light but then they are not designed to. These also only went up recently so will update how they last. My others have done nearly a year so far and are doing fine. As a cost effective lighting addition to give some basic lighting to gardens and entry ways I think these are brilliant and if the price of these seems good then go for it (I paid £20 for the 4) but as mentioned don’t be swayed by the number of LED’s.

I was surprised how bright they are, and how good the sensors on them are. Very good lights. Very easy to install. Just drill one hole between the bricks for each light. Screws and Rawlplugs come with the lights. As long as you got a drill and some masonry drill bits you're good to go for attaching them to the side of the house. If you're attaching to wood its obviously even easier to install them. Perfect for any dark areas around your home. Put a few on the back of my home because its pitch black out there and every time i went out to put rubbish in the bins or put them out for the bin man i couldn't see a thing. These lights fixed that problem.

I brought 4 of theses lights fixed them up they all work decided to get 6 more it's made a great difference to the light in the garden nice n bright I hope they last a long time as soon as I open the back door the light's come on all the way down to the garage to light the way before I had a lantern the sensor had gone the light stayed permanently on so switched it off and now have the solar light's at the moment there fantastic.... my review two days after I brought these 4 light today for some reason or other 2 decided not to work so had to take 4 down and return to Amazon and wait for refund to reorder in the hopes the next will be ok so the happiness of the lights as dropped now not happy have 6 left now waiting to see how long they will last !

Great item, give off great light as soon as activated.
