Dakine Tour Snowboard Bag Compared to a Burton Wheelie
My son and I have been using this Dakine Tour Snowboard bag and the Burton Wheelie Board Case Gear Bag True Black - 166 One Size for about a year. We purchased them last year for a (fly-in) snowboarding trip out West, use the to store the boards in the off- season, and use them in our vehicles this time of year for local weekend trips. I spent a quite a bit of time researching the two bags prior to purchase and thought I'd provide some feedback here for anyone else making a similar decision. Both are great well-made and durable bags. I like the simplicity of design of this Dakine bag over the Burton Wheelie. E.g. The Burton Wheelie has separate removable (and losable) boot bags. The Dakine boot compartments are built-in. -and the built-in boot compartments actually keep the boots situated so that the bindings of the board are protected during transit. When we flew with our boards last year Delta required that we not put a lot of extra weight in the snowboard bags so we needed most of our gear in a separate bag anyway. I found it easier to walk across the airport with a snowboard bag on one shoulder strap and a duffel bag with my other belongings on the other shoulder. (I didn't use the wheels on my Burton Wheelie) I don't regret owning both bags; however, if I were making the purchase again knowing what I know now I would purchase two Dakine Tour bags.

Nice Bag, Great Value
Perfect fit for my 161 (i purchased the 165), there is a little bit of wiggle room, which is what I wanted. The boots fig perfectly, and I have big feet (size 14 boot). Feel pretty well padded but I am flying with it next weekend so i will update the review if I have any issues. For the price, this is a great buy. I'm sure you can find nicer/better bags but not at this price point. A great mid-level bag, not too expensive but still pretty darn nice.Update: Flew to the mountains and back with my board in this bag and no issues whatsoever. TSA did inspect it, but they do that to all oversize luggage - those hooligans.Update #2: I have flown with this bag a few times and use it for year-round storage of my snowboard and it is holding up great. It is perfect for traveling - I can fit my board (obviously), boots, and I actually put my helmet on top of my board (hard side up) between the bindings with my backup goggles inside the helmet - you can carry your whole setup in here and laugh at all those silly skiers that have to carry like a billion bags HA!Very satisfied with the purchase.

New snowboard tore a hole in it
My initial impression was that this is a great bag. There are numerous great design features in it. Unfortunately, it only lasted 4-5 snowboarding trips before tearing, and it tore on the first trip after I got a new snowboard. So maybe it only lasted 4 trips because the edges on my old board were dull. In the attached picture, it's clear the bag can't stand up to the sharp edges of a new board- you can see it tore right along the edge of the board. So why not one star if the bag isn't built to handle a new snowboard? Two reasons- I like the rest of the design, and although they won't cover a tear like this in warranty Dakine did offer a 40% discount on a new bag. Kinda useless of course, why buy another bag that's probably going to rip on the next trip? But I appreciate the company tries to back up their products to some degree. Also, if you have an older board with dull edges, this bag will work great for you.I'll probably sew a patch on it and cutout a piece of cardboard or something to put under my new board so it doesn't tear any more holes, and just keep using it. Other than the weak bottom, I really do like it.Previous review:The bag is well designed and great quality workmanship and materials. You won't worry about throwing your board and boots in it and checking it on an airline. The separate boot pockets are sweet for keeping grubby boots off your other stuff if you have to pack in a hurry. Shoulder strap is well padded for comfortable carrying (no wheels). Really coming to trust the Dakine brand as meaning quality.

Excellent snowboard bag
Excellent snowboard bag. I have a 158 board, but I bought the 157 because I really liked the design, and 157 was the largest size in stock of that design. Once it's in, it has a good amount of room to spare, but it is a little tight getting it in. I wouldn't recommend going past a 160ish board in the 157 case though. Other than the board, I am able to fit my jacket, pants, boots, helmet, small backpack, and all the other accessories I use when boarding. One potential problem, I have size 11 feet, and my boots we a somewhat snug fit in the boot pockets. It may be because I had so much in the main pocket, along with the board, but I think it is because the boot pockets aren't really very.....boot shaped. I think if you have particularly large feet, you might have trouble fitting the boots in. I can't say for sure though. It has a strong, well made carry handle, and a comfortable shoulder strap. The hooks are made of plastic, so they might break, but it could be replaced if needed. There is a lifetime warranty. For me at least, it is a perfect, well made case, and I love the design.

Great Bag for airplane travel
Flew from PA to CO with my 141cm board, and it held up very well. I was able to fit two pairs of snow pants, my coat, helmet, and mittens inside the main compartment. I love that the boots have separate compartments - keeping things neat and orderly. If I absolutely had to suggest anything to make the bag even better, it would be to have some small side pockets or mesh netting things inside, maybe for knick knacks like hand warmers, tools, or your balaclava. Otherwise - the bag is simple and spacious (granted, I have a tiny board and tiny clothing / accessories) which allows you the freedom to put things other than your board in there. i got the striped Skyway design, and it's very nice looking - and was easier to distinguish from the other plain black snowboarding bags.Overall: held up well for airplane travel, padded well, nice separate boot compartments, Skyway design is very cool looking.

Five Stars
Ideal for plane travelling, can add stuff between the bindings and all around boots.

Good build quality, great price!
Great snowboard bag, bought it last minute before I went on holiday and I was thoroughly impressed with it. Fits my 155cm board very well, snug but not so tight that I feared for the edges. The padding throughout the bag was good, and the compartments for the boots fitted my size 11 boots perfectly. Was also able to cram in loads of clothes and other traveling gear without any signs of strain or struggle from the bag. Build quality is good and the carry strap was comfortable.
