We are all addicts. And the worst part, we don’t know it. Irresistible shows us how. This is a must read for everyone. One of the best books ever written in today’s age.

Expected more from this book.

This is another book on the harmful impacts of smartphone and internet addiction and has been written well. Any suggestion for digital detoxification will however work only if readers are ready to imbibe the suggestions otherwise addiction will continue. The first few chapters of the book though were a little dry compared to the later ones.

副題からすれば、マーケティング、商品開発に役立つかと思ったが、addictionの切り口での内容であった。 様々なaddictionの紹介というところ。色々な気付きがあり、興味深く最後まで読める。 ゲームの作りの部分は熱が入っていて、仕掛けは良く理解できる。運動もaddictive になる側面ありとのことで、スマートウォッチを外すことにした。 自分の行動、習慣を広範に見直し、依存の一面もあるのかと考えさせられた。 世の中では、依存症の議論がかまびすしいが、依存の本質をこの本で先ずしっかり理解して議論に臨んで欲しいものだ。 Kindle版と、ペーパーバックで、記述が異なる部分を発見。 P177 anthoropologist Natasha Dow Shull ➡ exprerts となっている。 こういう事もあるのだ。 また、notes(脚注）があるかないかが本文中では判らない。これは、ペーパーバックでもKindle版でも。 裏付けが無い主張かと思っていると、脚注があったりする。
