Netgear D6200 Modem Router
I have Windstream DSL and have been having trouble staying connected with the modem they supplied. I have also started to have some issues with my old Netgear router [WNDR3300] as it was lacking in range. Most everything in the house has been converted to Apple products, and the traffic is getting pretty heavy. 5 I phones, 1 I pad, Mac Book Pro, I Mac 27". Apple TV, HP 8500 premium printer and 2 windows lap tops. So we are pretty heavy users at different times of the day. My windstream modem a speedstreem 4200 had to be reset a couple time a day, and after contacting Windstream to no avail, I decided to replace the modem. After finding the Netgear D6200 Modem Router combo on CNET with a good review, I decided that I would give it a try. I am by no means a computer guru, but I know enough to get by. I have had it up and running for a week now, and I have not had any issues with the system. No resets or failure to connect to the network. The setup was very simple and I renamed my network to match the old setup, it took me about 30 minutes including a firmware update. The coverage has increased in the home, as I had some dead spots with the old router. I do not have any products that are above the N range at this time so I have no info on the new AC wifi, but it's there when I do. Over all I have been very happy with the results I have been seeing. Nothing worse than having to get up and reset the system every few hours, it's much like every time you go to turn the lighs on having to go to the circuit box the flip the braker. All in all I would recommend the D6200 at this time. UPDATE 6/13 Just to let everyone know, I have had the router up and running for 3 months now and last week I lost service no internet connection. Not bad considering what I had been going thru with my old system, did a reset and still no internet, contacted ISP and they had an outage in the area. So I really have been up and running for 3 months without a drop in service.

This made a big difference and our internet isn't so crappy anymore!!!
We have been having issues with our internet and signal off and on for the last six years, we live in a rural area and only have one company to choose from for internet access and that is through our phone company. Anyways, we finally decided to try this... I probably would have tried it earlier, but I really know nothing about this type of stuff and I didn't know if anything would work if it wasn't bought from the internet company. This device has improved my internet tremendously! We haven't had any issues (knock on wood) since this was hooked up! I purchased the fastest internet speed available because we have all of our televisions streaming, multiple tablets in the house and cell phones too and since all of our TV shows are streamed they were always buffering and that was with only one TV on in the house, it was soooo frustrating! Since we have had this hooked up we have had no buffering and I now have signal in the whole downstairs (finished basement) of my house, before I could never keep a connection on my phone to play a video. Set up was a little bit of an issue because the genie never popped up on the computer. I called the customer service number and got a really nice woman, the only problem was she had an accent. I don't say that to be mean, I say that because I think the call wouldn't have taken quite as long as it did if I didn't have to have everything repeated. The customer service woman was extremely nice though. Anyway if anyone out there in Amazonville decides to purchase this, it will probably be easier to connect via cell phone or tablet because while I was on the phone with customer service I tried to connect on the tablet, the genie popped right up and I was able to connect! I tried to explain to the woman that I was finally connected, but she still insisted on walking me through a few steps on the computer, I don't know if those steps were necessary because it was in the settings, and since I couldn't really understand what she was saying I just went with it. Anyways, after an afternoon on the phone we were finally up and going and have not had any problems since! I would definitely recommend this product it made a huge difference with our service and even though I did have to spend a lot of time with customer service, the customer service was wonderful and she really did seem to care and want to make everything right so for that I am thankful and thought it was worth it. I have been recommending this box to all of my neighbors too and I actually believe one of them has already purchased because he texted me to get the model number.

---Absolutely the worst. I have had 3 other Netgear modem/routers and ...
Product worked well for about 4-6 months. Customer service consisted of being on hold for 55 minutes to only get a foreign call center with a rep who had limited English speaking skills and wanted my credit card number before he could help. I was told it only comes with a 90 day tech support although the modem/router is guaranteed for 1yr, yet csr could not help with return our replacement until I gave my CC #. ---Absolutely the worst. I have had 3 other Netgear modem/routers and thought it was maybe a fluke but now I am inclined to think they are designed to malfunction in order to make more money.

Overall good combo DSL Modem-WiFi Router
This is a long-term review after using it for 1 year. It just works and is generally dependable and reliable. It is working well with Centurylink DSL and also works well as a WiFi Router with Cable modems. Dual-band range and signal strength is good across many walls in a multi-storied setting. Initial setup and editing settings later is very easy to do. Works very well with a mixture of devices including Windows 7, 8.1, Galaxy S5/S4, Windows Phone, Chromecast TV Adapters etc. I took off one star because it is not perfect. I have used many different brands and they all have their little quirks. I had previously tried the Actiontec brand and the Actiontec did not work well with my DSL connection. This Netgear unit being a combo DSL Modem-WiFi Router offers a lot of functionality in a very small form-factor. It has also worked well as a standalone WiFi router. Make sure to power cycle occasionally and download latest firmware updates. Overall a good system and recommended buy!

This item seems perfect, but it doesn't work w/ Time Warner Cable.
I bought this item ( a quite expensive modem router) for the advanced tech in terms of high internet speed & various functions, but it has no wire cable, which fits for Time Warner Cable. I like this item, but it doesn't fit for the service I need.

El producto funciona regular, no vale lo que cuesta no hay casi diferencia entre un modem común tiene la misma intensidad de señal que otros baratos, me arrepentí de mi compra, este comentario es después de haberle hecho varias pruebas.

Had Issues with it, ended up returning it. It wasn't receiving IPV6 addresses correctly, was hot at times, and would reboot itself.
