DJ&A Shiitake Mushroom Crisps - Lightly Cooked and Seasoned 10.28 Ounce (10.58 Ounce)

Wow - very impressive crunch. It is as firm as a crouton but not scratchy on the gums. I can eat 4-12, depending on size, with an occasional sip of water, before my generally tender jaw says that's enough. It absolutely hits the mark taking care of cravings. The package says it is cooked minimally so as to keep the natural properties as much as possible, and I appreciate that. It's not greasy and does leave only a very minor powdery seasoning on the couple of fingers touching it, but easily gone with a napkin. The flavoring is a mild garlicky mushroom-crouton taste, just right! This is perfect for keeping in the office desk drawer. I've opened the bag several times, and there's still no hint of staleness, so this is apparently an appropriate quantity, with many more servings left to go in the same bag -- excellent value! I am rarely moved to describe food in this way, and I'll definitely keep this on subscription. It's both savory and is definitely going to last a while. Amazing snack! Get one, and you'll be glad you did!

They are my favorite snack. They are crispy but in a chunky way. Great flavor and crispness. Great healthy snack that taste good.

Update: price has increased since this review. Perhaps due to tariffs or shipping charge increases? Still, nearly $14 is very steep for me. Four 1/2 stars. Better snack than potato or corn chips. Yummy, more substantial crunch without hurting teeth and more filling. Good snack experience that later feels like you ate real food rather than an unhealthy snack. Quality was excellent; no charred or bad pieces, absolutely no moldy or yucky fungal flavors, no bugs or the inevitable potato eyes, package was full per weight. I’d like a bit more salt but it might hide the “mushroominess” too much, and I understand that many people try to limit sodium for health reasons. Very expensive for me. Yes, the mushrooms are more expensive, less common, need more care and handling from beginning to end product, including the processing and low temperature cooking. Still, it makes it prohibitively costly for me to keep around regularly instead of chips. Definitely worth splurging on occasionally. I might bring some to the next work celebration where the number and diversity of people make it likely that many will give it a try. Or not, I might be selfish after spending so much.

Whole mushrooms with an interesting texture. It's a hard initial bite but then my teeth pass through it easily kind of like the texture of old fashioned peppermint puffs. The flavor is ok. Very reminiscent of maruchan ramen beef flavor packets. In all, I'm not impressed, but some may like it.

Scrumptious! What a yummy snack. Couldn't stop eating them. Will buy again.

This was good as a snack but when I put it in miso soup. Everything changed. I love it so much. You let the mushrooms soak up the soup broth, they doesn't take up much. And they become the most delicious mushy mushrooms ever. Just like home cooked mushrooms. And it can be in any soup, miso sewed soup, noudle soup, creamy soup. Any soup!!!! I love this, easy meal to take to the office. Amazingggg
