Works great with cats
Same product I've gotten locally in a big box store, slightly better value and delivered to me. Used to replace screens in all my windows, about four rolls needed, our three cats made holes in the original screens. This replacement isn't too hard to install with the correct tools and proper size spline. Quality seems top notch, the cats can get their claws stuck in this screening and not tear it. Took a while to get to all the screens, the oldest replacements are now several years old and still holding up perfectly.

Stands up to climbing cats!
I have two cats, one is an avid climber. They are inside only cats (I live near open desert that is full of coyotes), but I like to leave the door open with the screen door secured shut so they can enjoy the air and sounds of outside, but I did not trust the standard screen material to stand up to their claws. Damage is one thing, but I definitely did not want them to tear the screen out enough to escape the house when I was in another room. So I was hoping to find a screen material stout enough to give me the peace of mind to keep the door open during the pleasant months, so I gave this one a try. Soon after installation I heard the familiar sound of claws testing out the new screen door. Despite even finding one cat 6 feet off the ground climbing up the screen, there was not a hint of damage to the screen material! Its has also held in the sliding door frame very well, even with the weight of the cat suspended on it. No bulges or sags! The screen takes some elbow grease to install- definitely invest a few bucks in a metal roller- but I think it is easier to get a clean and taught install with this screen than with the standard stuff, maybe because it is thicker and doesn't get stretched out of shape as easily. I found rolling the screen into the groove with the round edge of the roller first, then using short quick strokes to push in the spline with the concave side made the installation go the fastest. I used a 0.135 dia spline (it was oddly hard to search for that size on here but the model number ended up being Prime-Line Products P 7631) which worked perfectly. It was a tight fit but not impossible and seems to hold the screen in nice and strong. As near as I can measure the original spline in my door was .140 inch dia., so I used one just the tiniest bit smaller for the new material. Its definitely a darker, more visible screen than the standard ones, but the peace of mind is worth it and then some. Plus it actually looks nice when the screen is clean and straight, not all bulging out and full of holes and rips like so many screens I have had in the past. I have had it installed for over 4 months now and there are still no rips or tears anywhere and I have not had to adjust anything despite cats climbing, scratching at it, and bouncing off of it while chasing their toys. The fact that this stuff is only a few dollars more expensive than the standard fiberglass screen is astonishing, I think it is worth many times the price!

Totally awesome product!
UPDATE March 24, 2020. I still absolutely love this screen. It's held up like a champ. OK, here's my two cents on this product. First and foremost, replacing screens period is NOT an easy task. Does not matter what material you use. It sucks! Which is why I gave it a 3 stars when it asks if it is easy to install. Only plus is that you won't tear up your hands like screen mesh does. So, 5 stars on this being a "no boo boos here, move along please!" product. Secondly, it's not a half day job, so stop right now and understand that it WILL take you an entire weekend to replace your screens if you have more than one to replace. I had 10. A week later and I have 3 more to do. Had to order another roll. OK, on to my review. I LOVE this pet screen. Totally worth the effort. Love the price. I have a 20 pound Maine Coon that loves to get our attention by jumping on the screens. He completely destroyed the original ones. I had 10 screens to replace, because of this fiesty stinker of ours. I reused the spine from the original screen windows since this is ONLY a roll of screen that you are buying. It's not a kit. My only issue with it (but I easily fixed it without causing a stink) was that part of the screen had uncolored spots. I simply took a permanent marker to it and you can't even see it now. Too easy! I posted pictures so you can see the difference between my old screen and the new pet screen. I also love the darker shade. More privacy for us. BTW, my cat jumped on the new screens almost as soon as I got them in and they easily held up to his clawing. I'm happy! 💜 I totally recommend this product. I wish I had found it years ago.

TOUGH SCREEN!! TERRIFFIC PRODUCT!!...Use thinner Spline!!
Our kitties shredded a portion of the patio door screen for their personal entry/exit and it came time for me to make the fix. I bought this screen wanting something durable and tough and this screen is SUPER-THICK AND TOUGH!! EXACTLY what I wanted/needed. I planned to install one of the pet-doors that connects directly to the screen for the cats ( I provided a review for that product too). THIS SCREEN IS MUCH THICKER THAN REGULAR SCREEN so I HIGHLY recommend using a thinner spline to install. My patio door used .14 spline and I ended up using the old spline from the original screen since it was already somewhat compressed---I had to use an extra dose of elbow-grease to get that spline in place. I strongly suggest if your screen used .14 spline...use .12. if your screen has a .16 spline...use .14. It was also a bit tricky to cut/trim the excess using a tactical Kershaw folder or scissors...that's how tough this screen is!! This screen is also quite darker than the original screen which is a welcome addition for privacy. DO NOT HESITATE to buy this screen for a super-tough and durable replacement especially for pets etc. Just be prepared with smaller diameter spline or you'll have your work cut out for you.

Tough install
I bought the pet resistant screen. It is a heavier plastic-like material which is noticeably dark and thicker than the standard wire it replaced. It appears heavy-duty and sturdy. I bought the metal roller tool with the wooden handle and also used a very small, thin, flat headed screw driver. I bought the Adfors Multipack of splines with several different widths. It is a bit difficult to tell the difference but the roller tool has two different wheels. The thicker wheel is to push the screen into the screen's groove, the thinner wheel is to push the spline into that groove so the screen stays put. The problem is that the pet screen is very thick and the groove it fits into on the screen's frame is not. I used the thinnest spline and it was a multi-day chore to get it inserted. I used the thin screen driver to push in the corners. The parts with the metal clips (used to pull the screen out) were very hard, the spline really does not fit into the groove there because the metal clips take up some space so I hope it holds. I used the 0.125" x 20' spline (the thinnest one in the Adfors Multipack) and it only did 1 screen. The screen material itself looks as if it will hold up to cats on one side and squirrels on the other. Whether the spline holds the screen in the screen frame is yet to be seen.

Heavy duty, hard to install
Great product! This is made very well. Strong and much thicker than the normal. So, for this reason it will be a different view when looking out and is harder for others to see back into the home. For the install we suggest you follow a fellow post below. We fully agree you should use the recommended spline size for this screen. Yes, it’s going to take some time and muscle to get it installed, but do not go with a smaller spline because overtime it could come. Start with a flat head screwdriver to start the spline as it’s going to take a bit to get it down into the groove. Then stretch the spline just a little bit, too much and it will break, as you go along to put the spline into the groove. We fully recommend you use a metal roller for screen installation, not the plastic one as we did, because the heavy duty screen ate it up. Since our plastic roller got beat up we ended up doing most of the installation using a wide, flat head screwdriver. Then we use the roller in the end to help push the spline back down into the groove more. In all, it probably took us over an hour. We used clamps to stretch the screen over the screen door then clamp it in place before we started installing the spline. When done, we took a sharp razor knife and cut the excess screen off using the inside top edge of the grove as a guide.

Biscuit Approved
The screen door has been subject to the "abuse" from our two cats for quite some time. No big deal. I just replace the screening periodically and it looks great for about an hour or so... I found this replacement and thought it might be the perfect solution. Looks like my thoughts were correct. Our "guy" Biscuit was the true test. When he is looking to go outside it works at the bottom of the screen until someone opens the door. With conventional screening it would not take more than five minute for him to have created a huge gash. Not with this stuff. I have had the lower section replaced with this screening since purpose and it looks as good as it did on day one. Trust me... Biscuit is unrelenting. This is an absolute true test of its durability... Now for the other side of this for your awareness. The material is obviously very sturdy. That will result in you having to deal with two specific issues. 1. Your visibility will be slightly reduced. For me this was not an issue but you should keep this in mind. 2. Installation will be a bit more challenging because of the heft of the material. Your existing spline should work, as mine did, but will will work harder at getting it in place. Again, for me, worth the effort. I suppose you could try a slightly smaller diameter spline to compensate. I could not possibly recommend this enough for any application similar to mine. This product is definitely Biscuit approved. BTW .. He is in front snuggling with his sister...

VERY tough screen, not too bad to install, a little darker than standard charcoal screening
I have a new indoor cat and needed to rescreen my front screen door to protect my 8 month old kitten against some of the roaming 15 pound felines running about . I thought about using aluminum screen and while it's tougher than fiberglass, it still has disadvantages because it dents, can still be torn, isn't intended to be pet proof, the wires can get pulled apart and it can be sort of a pain to install if you are not experienced/careful. Pet D-Fence Pros: 1.) VERY tough nylon or heavy duty fiberglass material - far tougher than I thought it would be. 2.) Decent transparency. It's darker than standard charcoal fiberglass screen but it also makes it harder for people walking by to peek into my front door during the day but no so much at night 3.) Easy to install relative to aluminum screen and more tolerant of screen spline roller slips than either fiberglass or aluminum screen 4.) Simple tools required for installation - screen roller, new screen bead if required, a slot blade screwdriver, razor knife with new blade or you can farm it out to the local hardware store 5.) Adds a lot of stability and rigidity to a screen frame 6.) (NEW) This screen deflects 90% of the sunlight and heat away from my front door. See my update comments at the end of this review Cons: None really but see the section below on "things to know". Things to know: 1.) I saw some comments from other reviewers that this screen is too thick to install. That may happen if you have very narrow screen channels but there are techniques to try before abandoning hope. You may actually need smaller diameter screen spline. 2.) Another approach to try rather than buying new screen spline is to simply press about one inch of the existing spline in place with regular slot screw driver blade at a corner and then gently pull the spline to stretch it, reducing it's diameter and then roll it into place with a spline roller - that's what I did. 3.) I did not list the extra thickness as a "con" because D-Fence screen is made to be tougher/thicker. 4.) Be aware that when stretching the screen spline it is important to use a very stable work table. Having a second set of hands and strong forearms also helps with installation. I did mine solo and it came out nearly perfect with patience 5.) The D-Fence product does darkens the look of the screen and some of the outward visibility even in daylight because the mesh is thicker. It's fine with me because I want protection for my cat and I think the darker color looks fine but you might not agree. 6.) I used a few small wood shop style 2" spring clips with a wooden ruler to hold the screen in place so I would not scratch the screen frame when setting the bead. Other options are using medium sized metal binder clips used in offices for large stacks of paper or having a second person simply maintain pressure by gently pulling the screen tight. The photo below shows standard charcoal fiberglass screen on the left and the D-Fence screen on the right. In summary, I really like this product, ordered two more rolls from Amazon.. I have NOT accepted ANY discount or free product for my review. 5/30/16 update - The screen easily withstood a mauling from a large neighborhood cat two nights ago. Not a mark on it after the other 15 pound cat climbed half way up the screen. One other interesting side note. My home faces east and my main entry door gets REALLY hot in the morning sun with a standard screen in place. With the pet d-fence screen in place, the door never gets above about 100 degrees - the heavier mesh reflects all the heat. That latter fact alone is enough to get me to buy this product. 7/16/16 update - I used Pet-Defence screen on a rear house screen after an local cat clawed my original Marvin fiberglass screen up trying to get into a fight with my indoor cat. Last night the same outdoor cat launched another attack at my cat who was sitting in the window with the Pet-Defense screen. The other cat bounced off the heavy duty pet screen. I was sitting on the sofa 5 feet away and it was loud and pretty funny. No damage to the new Pet-Defence screen but the other cat has to be scratching it's head wondering what happened. I bought a new, larger screen roller and I "pre-roll" the Pet-Defence into the screen notch with the convex side and then add the spline pressing it into place with the concave side of the roller. Great screen for defusing cat fights!
